So last night when I was in so much agony post-surgery, they had me on a morphine IV. I could press the button every ten minutes to get a dose of morphine. I did this all night long and it was just barely able to take the pain away.
Today though they have taken me off morphine, since I'm probably going to be discharged soon. Just over the course of a day I think i have become addicted to morphine because I am now going through awful withdrawal symptoms, on top of the agony of my painkiller-free post-surgery pain.
I've been all sweaty and nauseous. Sleepy yet restless. My body aches. I'm irritable and starving yet the thought of eating anything makes me want to throw up. Bleh. This is awful.
