The Vegas: Day One

We arrived in Vegas after a traffic-free, song-filled drive from LA.

Checked into our complimentary suite.

Immediately we headed to Red Square for some Russian-fusion cuisine.

Had the best Bloody Marys ever...

Ordered pre-appetizers...

appetizers...

main courses (below = sirloin tips stroganoff)...

...and more main courses (roquefort glazed filet mignon or sirloin or something).

For dessert we visited the Vodka freezer for some infused vodka shots.

Then rushed over to the Wynn to catch the newest Cirque Du Soleil show, Le Reve.

It was absolutely incredible.

Finally we met up with Chloe (in town for a fashion show) and ended up at RumJungle.

We walked right up to the front of the line. Got escorted into the club by the manager and got treated like young princesses.

It can only be described as totally and completely epic.

At the end of the day I'd spent about $40.

I wish my family owned a restaurant empire.

This is the way to do Vegas.

Big-Timing and Big-Timers getting Big-Timed

Tee and Tee's friend Joyce arrived in LA yesterday. It was Chris's birthday. The night was set to be an epic one.

We were going to go to Asia de Cuba, followed by some special treatment at SkyBar (Joyce's family owns them. Hello new best friend!).

Sadly the girls' flight was delayed and they didn't show up until after 12:30am at which point Asia had already closed and kicked Chris, Naia, and me out to wait in the lobby of the hotel.

When the girls finally arrived, we found that the managers who Joyce knew for SkyBar had gone home. Thus we were stuck with mean bouncers who had no idea who we were, and we did not gain entrance to said bar.

We were hoping for some epic showdown / demonstration of power followed by an immediate and painful firing...but apparently she's not that kind of girl. Which actually kind of makes her even cooler.

As a consolation we headed over to Canter's for some late night tequila shots, beer, and food action.

Though it was no SkyBar, it was a whole different kind of fun...

Also they gave birthday boy a birthday cupcake...

It was very sweet.

...............................

The following evening (tonight), Tee, Joyce, myself, Joyce's friend Greg, and Greg's very not-unattractive roommate Carl headed to the newest addition to Joyce's family's club/restaurant empire, the recently-opened, just-featured-on-Entourage, Social Hollywood.

Dinner consisted of 5 or 6 martinis each...

Crabcakes... sirloin-topped giant scallops...stuffed chicken breasts (below)....

The world's most amazing Mac & Cheese (with bacon)...

...and baked Alaska with fresh-baked cookies.

Following dinner, some kiddies joined us in the adjacent bar/lounge area (also part of the Social Hollywood complex).

Before long though, it came time for us to head upstairs to the "Members Only" area, whatever that means.

Sadly, with it being annoyingly exclusive and all, our buddies had to be left behind to play downstairs and eventually left to go into some alleyway and play spin-the-bottle.

Upstairs though? Amazing.

Bob Saget, Sarah the volleyball-playing beauty from ANTM, B.J. (Ryan the temp) AND Toby from the Office, were just a few of the pseudo-celebs we spotted.

There were an array of different rooms; two for billiards, one for dancing, and one totally sound-proofed room for sitting and chatting.

And I was stopped by a group of pretty girls who recognized me from Q's. Random.

Also, Joyce seems to be Chrispy's female counterpart when it comes to looking reeeeetarded in pictures.

And apparently it's contagious...

.........................

Right before closing we were taken down a secret stairway on a special tour of the special events area where an episode of Bravo's Top Chef is going to be filmed tomorrow.

Closing time. Everyone was spent and ready to go home.

And so we did.

Awesome Hollywood night.

And tomorrow...VEGAS!!!!!!!!!!!

Night of Games

Get your Gaming Bonnets on!!!! It's GAME NIGHT!!!

(Or it was last night.)

The Team that Likes Girls almost defeated the Team the Likes Boys until a tragic (and idiotic) mistake by a tragic (and idiotic) Eugene resulted in a one-point penalty and a tie game.

Also there were Charades and we rocked it out and if and when they have an American Charades Champion Idol or similar-type show we are going to DOMINATE.

My Life As An Office Drone

So I found a sweet temp job to keep me working (and making money) while I wait for my shooting schedule to fill up.

I've been working at Movielink.com. It's basically like Netflix, except you download the movies.

Temping is great because I think people expect the absolute worst from you and so if you do even the simplest thing right you're already going above and beyond expectations and they love you. I finished my first assignment a day ahead of schedule and so today was left with absolutely nothing to do except read the Go Fug Yourself archives and find websites and forums to post more free DennyKwan advertisements on.

Sure there are times and I feel totally bored and am like THANK GOD I don't plan on living this life forever. But it's great. Forces me to sit in front of a computer. Allows me to do my real work when I need to (I can take days or afternoons off if I've scheduled a shoot). I listen to music, do my "work", don't have to take any calls, and nobody really bugs me.

And I get a sweet double monitor, fancy cubicle, and a $900 Aeron chair!

UALB and ARR!!!

If you haven't heard already you either live in a hole or are named Suri Cruise.

Lance f-ing Bass is gay and dating REICHEN from the AMAZING RACE.

Ugly-Ass Lance Bass...

Amazing Race Reichen.

Amazing Race Reichen...

UGLY. ASS. LANCE. BASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT?!??!?!?

I'm sorry.

I need to repeat that.

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Something is not right in the world.

However, it does inspire me to become super famous and successful so that ridiculously good-looking semi-famous people will want to date me regardless of how ugly I am.

Who'd have ever thought I'd someday be insanely jealous of Lance Bass?

Meatballs and Morality

So Katie and I had a delicious meal last night at a little restaurant on Main St. called La Vecchia Cucina.

Slow-ish service. Amazing amazing food.

After the meal we walked down the street to meet up with the boys at the Library Alehouse and a homeless person asked Katie if she would surrender her leftovers because he was "so very very hungry."

Katie selflessly replied "But of course!" and immediately handed over her gourmet pasta half-meal.

I was kind of stunned. Is it wrong that I would refuse to give my meatball leftovers to a bum?

How can you beg someone for their leftovers??? It's just not right.

Here's a dollar. Go buy a muffin!

Maybe Katie is just a good person and I am bad and going to hell.

Ant Bully Premiere

Sunday afternoon, special thanks to Narnicle the Barnicle, we attended the World Premiere of the animated film Ant Bully at Mann's Chinese Theater.

I was very excited at the thought of possibly of bumping into Julia Roberts and making her my new best friend.

It was neat. The movie was a little on the ehhhh side. There was no Julia. But all-in-all still a fun experience.

Premieres are really not all that different from your average trip to the theater except for the barricaded fans, swarms of paparazzi, really large floats/decorations...

Much more reasonably-priced soda and popcorn...

Assigned seating, giant theater, and maybe a celebrity sighting or two...

God Bless You My Mongoloid Friend!!!!
