Barbados Night 3: White Party!

Calvin Harris - "Summer" will always remind me of this night in Barbados...and basically every dance party we had in Barbados.

When I was first told over email that they wanted the rehearsal dinner to be a "white party" I kind of rolled my eyes and thought, "ughhh been there done that..."

Little did I know it was going to be the most excellently executed white party EVER!!!!

They went ALL out. Everything was beautiful and white.

We LOVES a tented white party on the beach!

It was beautiful.

And when the sun set and the lights came on...it looked truly magical.

Of course, when everyone's dressed to the nines in pure white...

(Oh heyyy Shannon Elizabeth...)

...you obviously want to serve the messiest food possible...cue the epic Indian currybuffet!!!!!

I actually DIDN'T stain myself everywhere and the food was SO GOOD. I must have had 4 plates of india food.

Gnom gnom gnom gnom gnom...

None of this would have been possible without my little Zameer! Thank you for the referral Z!!!! (Z designed all the jewelry for this epic fiesta.)

After eating...music came on. I think the first song was "Summer" by Calvin Harris. (Which I guarantee you will be the wedding dancefloor song of the summer if it isn't already.)

After dancing and sweating...we were treated to an awesome reggae band.

And an epic dessert bar.

Look at these sad sad Louboutins... #richpeople

Soy much fun!

Here's me with all the little event planners.

And my little Zameerfriend.

I have no idea how I'm going to blog the wedding... Off to Colorado tomorrow!

Cancun White Party Birthday!

This is going to be a looooong post. Tons of pictures. Tons of fun.

Wednesday Jan 26th was Noopur's 30th birthday. The last to arrive in Cancun finally did and it was time for the big birthday celebration... a White Party!

For Noops's 30th, her closest friends and family surprised her with an amazing gift...

A gorgeous diamond necklace with 8 diamonds all in a circle, one diamond from each friend...

I don't know why I didn't take a close up of the necklace. It was very pretty. And sparkly. Designed by Zameer himself.

Whoever said "Diamonds are a girl's best friend" is silly...A diamond DESIGNER is a girl's best friend. (You may recall the beautiful ring he designed for me to give to Teebags when we got engaged.)

After gifting her with jewels, we led Noops downstairs where we unveiled the newly decorated living room, filled with memories from her epic life and surrounded by her favorite people.

Vicki had mojitos ready to go!

I think the birthday girl was verrrry excited....

As someone who prides himself on being kind of thoughtful about giving memorable and meaningful gifts to my friends, I really thought Zameer hit it out of the park with his organization of this 30th birthday celebration for his bestie. It totally raised the bar for what I have to do the next time I do something awesome for someone.

Mojitos for everyone!

We hung out an had a mini photo session before dinner was served...

Then I put my laptop out playing a screensaver of the pictures that I had taken up until that point.

I love what I do. But nothing makes me love it more than when I see the joy on people's faces while looking at my photos. That makes me really happy. Instant validation.

Remember when I sliced my hand open and had to get 20 stitches and rocked a smileyface handbandage for a night that I named "Sarah"? Well I suggested to Subha, who had burned her hand earlier in the day, that she do the same.

Meet Patrissia!

Birthday Dinnertime!

We had delissssious enchiladas.

And then spent a good hour going around telling touching stories about Noops and making everyone cry. It was like a series of wedding speeches basically.

Gosh. Noops has such great great friends. It made me miss all my other favorite peoples!

And then came birthday cake.

Patrissia was having a great time!

Next came birthday shots.

And THEN, as we raised our glasses...right on cue...in walked a surprise!

A mariachi band!

I have to reiterate that our house was out in the middle of NOWHERE. Literally you have to drive a half hour outside of central Cancun AND THEN drive another 20 minutes on this terrifying pothole-filled dirt road to get to the house. So the fact that this rando Mariachi band had made it all the way out was kind of incredible.

But it's Noops's birthday. And Noops makes magic happen.

Dancing commenced.

At this point everyone was getting wastedface, so I put away my fancy camera and pulled out the partycam.

Even Vicki and Alicia got in on the fun!

After the Mariachi band left, we were a bit tuckered out.

So we sat down and played a customized game of Taboo...

Then out came Mojitos, on came a playlist and dancing started all over again.

We danced until the wee hours.

And then the pool happened...

It was all kind of awesome and insane...

And then Zameer found a bag of sliced turkey and proceeded to eat it piece by piece and feeding pieces to everyone...

As if they were baby birds...

And then he melted a bunch of cheese on the turkey and ate that too...

And then Rini started making egg sandwiches...

YUMMMY!!!!

Even MORE to come!
