I blogged Night 1, but then was quickly inundated with parades and drinking and BEADS and haven't been able to even wrap my head around processing the 800+ pictures and condensing them into a single post.
Well finally I have done it.
We must have gone to like 10 different parades over the course of 4 or 5 days.
Each parade had a different theme and each float had a different design.
LOVES a Kardashian float.
LOVES a Jambalaya!
We went to several house parties. Different people took turns hosting.
Spontaneous dance parties erupted.
We feasted on KING CAKE.
And Better Cheddar, which is basically Cheese, Bacon, Mayo, Chives, and other seasonings. Cheddar, but BETTER. Only in New Orleans.

Parade!
After each parade, the streets would be A MESS. If people don't manage to catch the beads they're thrown, the beads fall to the ground and stay there. It is generally considered poor form (and is also kind of disgusting) to don beads you pick up off the street, unless they're REALLY fancy.
The Quarter was annoyingly crowded.
UGH. We HATE tourists!
But not as much as we hate the Haters!
Another day, another parade. They tended to get bigger and fancier as the days went on.
School marching bands also provide great entertainment.
I just LOVE a bead.
And I love me some 610 Stompers. These are grown-ass mostly middle-aged men who do awesome choreographed routines along the parade route. There were like hundreds of them.
Parades lead to traffic jams. We would blast music and get out of our cars and dance in the streets.
There was always jambalaya to be found SOMEWHERE.
And did I mention, beads?
And a light saber. LOVES a light saber.
Katie and Semmes have, of course, some fun Mansion Friends.
Mansion Friends have, of course, Mansion Feasts laid out for their visitors.
Mansion Feasts include TURTLE SOUP. Yum.
And SO MANY SANDWICHES.
Oh??? You like CRAWFISH???
(I do not. Eating crawfishes is like eating cockaroaches.)
I do, however, like a man in a uniform with a nice smile who can play a mean saxamaphone.
And I also like toilet paper in trees.
And doing organized dancing in the streets.
And DRAGONS!
Some of the parades had CELEBRITIES.
We LOVE a celebrity.
Hilary Swank throwed me a beads.
As did Cyndi Lauper.
Semmes had a special outfit for the last day.
And all the goats came out.
And pretty cheerleaders.
Pretty!
At the end, I saved all my prettiest beads.
LOOK THEY ARE SO PRETTY.
Anyway, Mardi Gras is awesome. You don't even understand.
The best part?
Hand-dancing on the way to the airport.
