O.M.F.MEATBALL!!!!

Danny has been talking about Vito's Pizza for weeks now ever since he tried some at a movie screening a few weeks ago.

I wasn't believing all the hype.

But our pizza just arrived a few minutes ago.

And I just had to take a moment to give thanks and make you all jealous before I go and smoosh my face into it.

Happy Friday!

I am so thankful to my iChat/gChat buddies for keeping me sane during these past few months by humoring me with daily conversations about absolute nonsense.

Megoon: what if you inseminated a half-black half-white lady?
you'd have a perfect-skinned kid with weird hair, it would be awesome
me: hmmmm the hair i might not dig
but my child would be cool maybe
or i could inseminate a duck
and have a half duck half child
Megoon: like zeus?
i think if you do that you still have a kid
it just comes out of an eg
me: yum
Megoon: should i start spelling egg with one g?
me: yes
Megoon: eg
me: please
Megoon: 2 eg omelet
to be enjoyed by a monky
me: i like spelling stuff like that
like monky
hahahahah
YESSSSSS!!!
12:15 PM Megoon: i know you too well
me: hahaha amazing
ok i'm going to go be productive
(a.k.a. read People magazine)
Megoon: ok
write me a book report
me: The Black Man
who won the contest of america
has pretty lady
he dances with her
and she wears pretty dresses
like a swandress
together they make everyone very very happy
and golden coins fell from the sky
The End

Music Video Danny

Many of you have been asking me why Music Video Danny looks so familiar.

Well...it's possible that you're Matt and often show up to the same castings that call for Californian-looking surfy hotpeople.

Or maybe you were out with us the night Katie made out with him and some weirdo bar-random followed us to Teresa's friend's house and put on the homeowner's panties and doing nasty nasty things.

Or maybe you frequent A&F stores and remember him from his wall displays and dreamy in-store video.

Either way he is wonderful and I promise you will be seeing much more of him in the future.

New DK Music Video!

There's a lot of talent out there on YouTube. But one thing that pisses me off is the crappy quality of so many webcam videos that people make of themselves.

I've been wanting to do something for a while, which is to take a friend, make a simple but beautiful music video of an acoustic version of a new hit song, and ride the original song's coattails to YouTube superstardom.

Danny and I had been tossing this idea around for a little while. And after hearing Kelly Clarkson's new single "My Life Would Suck Without You", I knew we had our song.

So with nothing much to do yesterday, we got together for the afternoon, shot several takes, and edited the video together just in time for the World Premiere of Kelly's official music video on American Idol last night.

Youtube tends to degrade video quality a whole lot, so I'm hosting the above version of the video on Imeem.

If you can do me a favor though and click this YouTube link and raise our hit count it will be totally awesome:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDACIwR9PL8

We'll see if this takes us anywhere!

It's fun feeling productive for a change.

Farshid is ridiculous. As is Gran Torino.

Poopshid has been home in Orange County for the past few weeks to interview for residencies at UCLA etc.

Knowing he'd need a car, he had his crappy little Maserati shipped out from Ohio (where he's in med school).

Today they came up for a visit. The thing is beauteous.

After zooming around West Hollywood throwing hundred-dollar bills at poor people, he dragged my crippled bottom to see Gran Torino.

Worst. Acting. Ever.

Those Asians should be so ashamed of themselves. I have no idea how this movie got good reviews. The characters' personalities were inconsistent and totally not-believable. Clint Eastwood looked like a stupid growling corpse.

The acting was HORRENDOUS. Like truly truly laugh-out-loud-at-the-little-boy-getting-raped horrendous.

Silliness.

Total silliness.

Kind of like spending $80k on a car that looks a bit like a Honda Prelude.

I ruv Farshid.

Barack and Michelle do WHAT together?!?!?!?!

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Fun with doctors

So the other day when I went for my first follow-up ankle appointment in California, I didn't mention it but the guy's office somewhat concerned me. All the cabinetry and stuff seemed kind of old-school. Like it was from the 80s. And the x-ray machine...was made of wood.

Seriously.

I was like..."are we sure this is safe?"

Well not really made of wood. But it was definitely an older model of x-ray machine. And the x-ray room doubled as a filing room with all exposed wooden cabinets with thousands and thousands of patient files just sitting there staring at you while you're waiting to get your foot/brain zapped with questionably-safe radiation.

And while most places now digitize your x-rays for easy display on a computer monitor, this doc was still using film.

I was already feeling a little uneasy about the whole situation and my whole lack of healing when I received an email from Megoon's wonderful mommy, a pro nurse, who advised me to seek a second opinion and to get the bone stimulator ASAP.

On top of this I received a random email last night from a fellow ankle blogger who referred me his amazing orthopedic surgeon who also just happens to be the Director of the Foot and Ankle Center at Cedars-Sinai which is just a few blocks from my apartment. God bless the internets.

Also, the new doc is well-educated and a multi-Ivy grad, which is comforting.

I headed over to Santa Monica, grabbed my xrays and reports from the other doctor and am seeing this new doctor Tuesday.

Yay!

Fun with Asians

In my boredom I caught up on Kevin's blog today. He doesn't blog much. Or ever.

But I'm totally amazed that he went to China on a whim without speaking the language or having ever been there before and two years later he's basically found his calling getting his teach on and seems to be really enjoying it.

These pictures are so cute:

Action shot...

Judging a writing competition...

Taking a Kung Fu lesson...

Teaching German exchange students about tea...

And with his two best students...

There's nothing I love more than white people that love Asian people.

Except maybe white people that love meatballs.

Or just meatballs.

Still broken, so broken.

Went to my new orthopedic surgeon yesterday.

Did some x-rays.

THEY LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME.

MY BONES HAVE NOT HEALED.

Doctor says that it may be because the break is so jagged and unusual.

So I still cannot put weight on my foot and am confined at least another month of more nothingness.

So frustrating.

The doc is going to talk to my other docs and they are going to look into using an ultrasound bone growth stimulator (sounds sexy I know) to try to make things heal faster (or heal, period.).

I'm fine. Just bored. And frustrated.

Please don't feel bad for me. Just be happy for yourselves. Be grateful for your mobility (except you, KG).

Go outside. Frollick. Do a jig. Send me money.

Me friends ist so smahts

TEE AND ALE GOT INTO HBS!!!!!

They'z comin' backs to aMErrrrrica!

(oh but apparently teebags is still waiting to hear from Stanford and then will decide. hmmph. must be nice...)

Inauguration!

Thanks to TiVo I was able catch all the good stuff and skip all the slow stuff.

Loved the beginning when Michelle pwned Laura Bush with an awkward handshake/hug.

Also there was something hilarious about Cheney being wheeled out of office in a wheelchair.

The Obama daughters looked adorable in J.Crew...

As did Ma'am Oprah...

And Aretha was rocking a huge freakin' bow.

And though I didn't think the President's speech was particularly incredible or memorable (compared to his victory speech), his simple presence there was awe-inspiring.

He just seems to bring a whole new energy and aura of confidence and COMPETENCE.

Gosh. There were so many people!

Would have loved to have been there.

I bet it would have been even more amazing than Election Night.

I know it's probbbbbably unlikely, since he has a 7am staff meeting and all, but I hope the Prez gets a break from all the handshaking and general madness and is able to actually enjoy himself and get a little bit wastedface.

Currygiftcurryfeast

Imran just dropped off a giftbag full of ten pounds of curry and assorted Sasian goodies that his mom cooked up for me.

Moms are so amazing.

Imran is so amazing.

Mmmmmphhmmhmpppphhhh

munchmunchmunch

Quiet! I'm eating.

(Or "eatting." As some people spell it.)

Why hello there...

In case you're worried, I am actually alive.

Just been vegging out hardcore with nothing interesting to report.

I'm seeing the doc on Tuesday at which point maybe he'll give me permission to put weight on my foot.

In the meantime, I've been watching:

Lost: Season 4
Dog Whisperer
Confessions of a Teen Idol
The City
Bromance
Real World: Brooklyn
The Bachelor
Oprah
The new season of 24 (totally epic)
Every single news report about geese flying into jet engines
Lars and the Real Girl
Steel Magnolias
Dan in Real Life
The Blue Lagoon
MacGuyver
American Idol
Good Will Hunting
Golden Globes

I think that's all.

I hope that's all.

Oh, speaking of the Golden Globes, Tina Fey's victory speech was hilarious:

Happy almost inauguration!

Belated New Year's 2009

Several years back we threw an amazing toga party where we bought 95 bottles of cheapo champagne, one for each person.

Andre is delicious...but totally deadly.

That night I was out by 10pm, but not before having vomited on several people.

To this day it remains one of the best->worst nights ever.

..........................

So.......for my first night back after a two-month alcohol detox, I thought it would be appropriate to stock up on Andre and invite some friends over to ring in the New Year belated-ly.

There was still plenty of holiday spirit left over.

Kate brought the most epic gift ever...

(An Obama commemorative plate with Mr. President-elect sporting some major gayface.)

And I spent most of the party gimpy-ly rolling around in my computer chair trying to interact with all these people who now tower above me.

It's really quite a difference from my normal aerial view.

We had the Anderson Cooper New Year's Special playing in the background...

...And at midnight we did a big countdown to January 10th.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

It's so good to be home.
