Bjoern's camera

So Bjoern let me borrow his digital camera, which is totally sweet.

You probably can't tell the difference.

But I can.

And WOOOOO!!!!

Photographry Lessons

So I spent the morning recovering from hangover and eating delicious Chineeeese food.

Around 4 I went in to work with Bjoern on some stuff. He spent an hour teaching me some lighting techniques by shooting me with my own camera. Basically we bounced a flash off a plain white wall to try to make it look like daylight. Photography is so cool.

After work I was driving past Westwood and decided to stop by Rach and Bri's to hang out. To my surprise I entered there apartment to find them sitting on the couch...with Bobby!

Yay. I am so happy when my friends connect.

And Bri is so sweet, she went to several liquor stores in Nevada looking for Honey Brown for me. (Honey Brown, my favoritest beer EVER, is rumored to be sold in Nevada but apparently these are LIES).

Rachael made me a Christmas CD that I'm sure I will be bopping along to for many days to come (I apologize in advance to any would-be passengers in my car).

My friends are so lovely.

I also got the sweetest voicemail ever from Del Smershio. Gershy, I love you more than life, and Los Angeles would never be the same without you.

Christmas love, one of the many reasons this time of year rocks.

Walter's Music Video

So I worked on the music video that Walter hooked me up with yesterday and the day before. Yesterday I went in at 7am and worked until 10pm.

It was a long day.

I spent most of it painting and watching them shoot the video.

Pamela, the director, was incredibly nice, sweet, beautiful, everything. She's a professional photographer specializing in pictures of rock bands and stuff like that. So I would love love love to work for her as an assistant.

I also ended up being IN the video since I guess they needed some "asian flavor". I'm one of the extras who holds up a little sign of their "ex" along with the reason we "broke up". Pictures of Tee and Naia were also selected to be in it. Tee was renamed "Tanya Powers", and Naia was "Denise Kwan".

So whatever. No pay. But it was fun.

Reflection!

Yesterday I bought a new reflector so that I can begin to learn the art of real pro photography. I think I got ripped off. Paid $90 for a 42-inch reflector. Pictures look so different with good lighting.

Here's a silly practice shot we did.

And then even sillier...we watched Elektra.

Unemployment! Yay!

So Kristy pointed out that because I was laid off, I can collect unemployment.

Basically our wonderful government is to send me a check for $400 a week while I'm looking for a new job!!! And I think I can do it for as long as a year!!!

I love my country.

Headshots!

So Meredith's new headshots have inspired me.

I am dead set on perfecting my headshot photography. I picked up a bunch of books on lighting, portrait photography, and photoshop. This is my quest. With Meredith as my muse. I am going to be a headshot photographer. And then fashion. And then the world.

Been searching for a job as an office manager/assistant/photo-retoucher for a photographer/studio. Please let me know if you have any leads.

I love it too much to not pursue it. I appreciate beautiful things and people too much. Who doesn't love beauty?

I mean, can you really deny the fact that this is just beautiful?

A new beginning.

I got fired today.

Yes. It is true.

F-f-f-f-fired.

It was an unfortunate blogging incident.

Packed up my things and left.

Cried a little bit in my car like a girl.

It happened in the span of two hours.

The old blog has been shut down. Here begins a new one.

Very very sad. For legal reasons I probably shouldn't explain. But it's done.

I am unemployed.

I have very mixed feelings about it all. It's kind of my fault. And I understand why I had to be fired. Kind of. I AM glad to have free time again. Finally. It wasn't a hostile firing. It was just what needed to be done. We parted with hugs.

So I guess I'm going to read. Watch movies. Learn about photography. Work out. Play tennis.

Spent the afternoon on the beach with KG. Very glad to see him and Heidi. I wasn't originally going to get to see KG on his supershort visit, since he was only in town for one day. But I guess everything happens for a reason. And that worked out. So yay.

And the funniest part is, my boss called me about four hours post-firing while I was eating a delicious fried lunch on the beach and said, "Uh...I don't know how to burn DVDs..." And I had to talk him through it on the phone.

Everything happens for a reason.

(deep breath)
