LA Birthday ...with Giants!

So while it is somewhat retardedtown to have more than one birthday celebration, I have come to terms with the fact that I have a bicoastal life and too many favorite people on either coast to NOT use the occasion as an excuse to get my favorite people all together.

So while we already celebrated in NYC via PartyBus, once in LA we celebrated again.

---------------------------------

The morning started with a walk around Hollywood Blvd where I bumped into a wonderful little lady...

At first, when Dora stood next to me for the above picture and said, "Hold my waist." I had no idea what she was doing and I was very hesitant to touch a slightly-soiled Hollywoood streetperson.

But I did as I was told, and it wasn't until I saw the picture on my camera that I fell in love.

Over the course of the day I became obsessed with this amazing Dora-pose, as you'll see as you read on.

Night fell and we descended upon Will & Smileyjohn's gmansion where they were hosting a Housewarming / Birthday party for my birthday twin Liz (one of their lovely housemates) and me.

Someone made a giant gingerman!

And they had prepared a wonderful spread.

Complete with meatballs (obvi)...

Some of my favorite blacks...

A cake...

And Smileywine! A forgotten favorite...(courtesy of Jesse and Harold)...

Naia brought her own amazing homemade cake, shaped like a plate of spaghetti and meatballs...

Thank you Narni for such a thoughtful and effort-filled present!

Such a great turnout!

We danced...

And sang...

And yes, everyone wanted to take pictures with the giants...

But not as much as us giants wanted to take pictures with each other!

In a Dora-pose no less!

We loves a Giant Party!

Especially when there are little people there too who are super inquisitive about life as a Giant!

Jihan and Annie met for the first time, which is funny because they could totally be sisters...

As could Daniel and Howard...

Sistahs!

Around midnight, someone laid out beef and chicken skewers.

And I began nibbling on the Ginger.

While Wally was still entranced by the Smileywine!

Wonderful wonderful time. Thank you again to Smileyjohn and Will and all the other roommates for hosting!

We LOVES a Giant Party!

We loves Dora the Explorah!

P.S. Smileyjohn and Jesse's plane tickets have been booked for Smileyjohn and Jesse Take NYC: Part 2! Get ready!

West Coast Birthday! / Handicapped Awareness-kind of

So I realize it's kind of douchey and egomaniacal to have TWO birthday parties. But I missed out on my birthday last year when I broke my foot and spent it doing this and I am bicoastal and it's my golden birthday and I just want any excuse to see all my friends together at the same time and dance around like a girl.

Is that so wrong?

.............................

Anyway. Jesse came up with the brilliant idea a few weeks ago of having it be a Handicapped Awareness party, since I just passed the one year anniversary of my breaking my ankle.

Neck braces, wheelchairs, arm slings, eye patches, retardfaces....you know, the works.

.....yeah....the theme didn't really work out.

Handicapped gear is EXPENSIVE. (CVS wanted $35 for a stupid neck brace!)

In fact, Jesse and I only took out the walker and crutches and head bandage to humor Marcus since he was the ONLY person who showed up dressed according to the theme. (Reminds me of the Derelicte Party, which, by the way, I back-blogged and added new pictures to a while ago.)

Danny played shirtless bartender.

Diana brought a Magnum of champagne.

Jesse brought Smileywine!

Naia brought a giant card.

And ASIAN Smileywine!

And yay we did shots.

It is funny that almost everyone ended up dressing not according to theme but instead just wore black. It was freezing out.

Smileyjohn brought CUPCAKES.

And OMFG they were the best cupcakes ever.

Ted brought some fabulous energy drinks...

While Doug just brought his pretty little face.

Ohhhh it's so nice to seee mah frends!!!!

So after 3 hours of pregaming, we popped off an obligatory "High Fashion!!!" shot...

And stumbled our way through West Hollywood...

To Cherry Pop!

They always play amazing music and it is always an amazing time.

So yeah, you know, it's like really fun, and they play all the best dance hits of today and yesterday and everyone is having a great time dancing a bit and hanging out...

But then they'd bust out something like "3" or Lady Gaga/Beyonce's "TELEPHONE" (which they played THREE TIMES)...

...and everyone would go NUTS.

Oh it was SO fun!

Thank you my friends!
