IKEA quest!

We started off with an energy boost at my favorite restaurant in Chinatown - Tasty Hand-Pulled Noodle.

I strongly recommend the steamed pork dumplings. And beef pan fried knife-peeled noodles.

Delicious!

Afterwards we hopped on the train to pick up my car in New Jersey.

(With Smileyjohn arriving this weekend and Felly desperately needing a room makeover, we decided to go furniture shopping.)

(These events actually took place on different days but Connie wore the same clothes three days in a row so I get to condense three blog entries into one. Yay!)

We grabbed my car and went to the Christmas Tree Shops, which ConCon insists is chotchkie heaven.

Also we browsed Halloween stuff.

Dead babies anyone?

Oh...and then IKEA.

Yum!

(I hate hate hate IKEA. But somehow was tricked into buying several pieces.)

Wheeee! Shopping is tiring!

The End.

TL turns 30!

Teresa, for her big 30th birthday celebration, decided to rent out what looked to be a serial killer's basement in SoHo.

We got to the place, and to get to "the Backroom" you had to walk through the kitchen.

And down these scary stairs.

There was no cell reception. If we all died, noone would have ever known.

In the dark though...all decorated with Christmas lights...it was kind of a neat place.

The place had capacity for maybe thirty people comfortably. But I'm pretty sure they packed a hundred or so in.

Me, Chris, Marco, TL, an open bar, and a bunch of randos.

It was super fun though.

And a TimLo appearance made it epic.

(Sidenote: I think Tim is seriously thinking about moving to NYC permanently so in this next month we all have to do what we can to make sure he falls madly in love with our city.)

Happy Birthday TL!

After TL's...I texted Connie and Felix to see where they were at.

They told me a in the West Village so I hopped in a cab to get over to them.

It was raining. A lot.

And of course I got there a little late and they had already auto-piloted home.

And so it is that I find myself in the pouring rain with no cabs (when it rains in NYC, everyone screams and hops in a cab so it becomes impossible to find an available one) gimpily walking drunk and soaking wet in my suit jacket to the nearest subway station which is nine or ten blocks away.

I was SO aggro.

So I sent this text while taking a break from the torrential downpour:

Granted I never told them I was coming. Partially my b.

Sorry ConCon! I ruv u!

Al Gelato

So after watching that video of the little baby chickens being thrown into the woodchipper I was never going to eat chicken again for the rest of my life/the week.

So we went to Al Gelato and enjoyed some wonderful meatballs and gnocchi.

Cicero's Birthday!

The other night Brian hosted a birthday party for the beloved Cicero.

We ate cheese.

Drank beer.

Watched the dogs play.

And chatted while silently thinking to ourselves how dreamy Oliver is.

"Nine" Trailer - This movie looks amazing.

Delirium

My sassy flight attendant who sounds just like Wanda Sykes just shook my seat neighbor awake by rubbing his head and saying "sleeping beauty? Excuse me, SLEEPING BEAUTY???" I LOLed.

ohhhh why is everything hilarious this early in the morning.
