So I checked French weather before heading to Newark Airport to hop on my flight to Paris.
Outlook: Not so good.
A six-hour flight later and it was Tuesday morning in Paris.
Heidi and Clawwwdia had arrived an hour before.
We picked up our sweet sweet Clio and headed out.
The highways around Paris are impossible to navigate and so very confusing.
It took about two hours just to get going in the right direction.
Originally, we had had grand plans to breakfast by the Eiffel Tower. But traffic and rain and lostness kind of killed that plan.
We settled for the mini-Eiffel tower.
Finally we were on the road. Driving through the French countryside.
Heidi, being the only one capable of driving a stick-shift was going to have to drive the entire way.
We were seriously going to cover 80% of the country.
The drive was fields, fields, fields.
A couple of pretty forests.
A really awful pitstop in the town of Auxerre where we tried unsuccessfully to find food for a good two hours.
Finally ending up at McDonald's.
Where the worthless US Dollar makes for a $15 extra value big mac meal.
Somewhere outside of Lyon the sun came out.
More fields and greenery...
And about 12 hours later, we finally hit the Mediterranean and made it to our destination: our little seaside town of Antheor...
