The tear ducts (contrary to popular belief) are the teeny tiny litte holes at the bottom and top of your eye toward the center of your face. Tears flow across your eye and then drain out through the two ducts.
In order to install the plug, the doc takes a big long plastic stick thing and places the plug on the edge of the duct, moves it around a little to find the proper angle (uncomfortable? yes.) and then JABS the plug deep into the tear duct to make sure it stays (yes there was screaming).
And Voila! I now have a very irritating plug in the corner of my eye scraping against my eyeball every time I blink and making it all red.
