The last time we were in town we were sans car and sans tour-guide, so taxi-ing around town was a little inconvenient and expensive. (Not to mention scary)
This time, however, we made it a point to hit Jacques Imo's.
The place was awesome.
The menu was AMAZING.
We ordered EVERYTHING...
Starting with the Shrimp & Alligator Sausage "Cheesecake"...
Fried Calamari, and Fried Rabbit Tenderloin in Creole Mustard Suace...
Corn bread...
Fried clam salad...
"Godzilla Meets Fried Green Tomatoes" - basically layers of delicious Fried Green Tomatoes topped with a Soft-Shell Crab and, of course, creamy cajun sauce...
Paneed (Fried) Rabbit Cutlet on Oyster Cream Tazzo Pasta...
Mushroom Stuffed Grilled Salmon with a Oriental Black Bean and Ginger Sauce...
Potato Crusted Gulf Fish with caper buerre blanc...
And I'm not sure what this last one is...but does it really matter?
This could possibly have been the most interesting, insanely delicious dinner of my entire life.
And hello, even the bathroom was amazing.
Jacque Imo's. If you're ever in New Orleans, you MUST go.

Following dinner, we stopped by Semmes's pad for some beers.
He has some very wonderful high ceilings.
Then we hit the bar to ring in Katie's birthday which occurred at midnight.
Bucket of beers? $13.
Amazing.
Love Southern prices.
The bar was surf-themed.
We played the finger game.
Yay!
The clock struck midnight...
And all wished Smershy a very happy birthday.
Happy Birthday Katie Del Smershio!
Nice. I tried to go there for dinner, but the wait was over an hour, so we didn't do it. There's one on the upper west side in new york, but I bet it's not as good. OMG, just googled it. The upper west side one is closed. Damn, i wanted to go there.
