It takes two or three episodes I think to kick into high gear, but when you start getting into all the crazy power struggles and character dynamics, it's just mind-blowingly enjoyable.

Imagine Gossip Girl at its 1st season best disguised in period clothing, British accents, brilliant writing, and incredible acting.
I watched Season One in one sitting. Yes this is what I have done with my Friday night.
