Oh Sidney Poitier...

I love the man.

Really I do.

Any man who is a hero of Oprah's is a hero of mine.

Any man who drives a sweet Bentley is a hero of mine.

But couldn't the dude have hired somebody to do a little research so that he could have avoided titling his "spiritual autobiography" something that had already been used? And by used I mean totally and completely tainted beyond repair.

I mean seriously.

Each copy might as well come attached with a big steaming bag of turds.

First CD Cover!

Anna Nicole

For some reason I find myself deeply disturbed and saddened by her death.

It's almost as heartbreaking as Princess Diana's death.

Sure Anna was kind of crazy and for the most part incoherent, but I think it's horrible the stuff she had been going through just a few months ago with her son dying right after the birth of her daughter and the ensuing media frenzy.

I'm not a religious person by any means, but I do believe that death is not the end of our existence.

I hope she is at peace wherever she is.

Bunnies!

Today was an interesting day.

I had two clients actually fly in from Las Vegas because they wanted to shoot with me. Flattering much?

These girls were super sweet. They work as Playboy bunnies at the Playboy Lounge at the Palms.

Even weirder?

So the girls are getting their makeup on in the living room. Music is playing. The TV is on. One of the girls, April, starts talking about how she just finished filming a new "reality" show for E! called Paradise City which is basically Laguna Beach set in Las Vegas. (It's co-produced by Ryan Seacrest and the producers of Laguna Beach.) Just as she's talking about how she was in LA recently to re-record the audio for some of the "scenes" for the show, the promo came on on TV!

There are more reality stars born each minute than there are babies.

Bunnies!

Road Rules Gossip

I don't think anyone our age watches Road Rules these days.

Anyone but me anyway.

Well here's a juicy tidbit in case any of you still watch.

Just had lunch with Adam who is on a break (they film 4 days and have the other 3 off) and who was just saved from being kicked out of the RV because Crazy Abram punched him in the face and got kicked off the show.

Well Abram broke his hand during the punch and is now calling and texting and making death threats because Adam is thinking about suing his ass and because, well, that is just what crazy people do.

Adam is now headed off to get a restraining order.

Ahhh the life of a reality TV star.

More on the Gay Masseur

Turns out Sebastian the Gay Massuese was a refugee from Croatia. He was in a concentration camp for several years as a teenager and somehow fled to Germany where he lived in foster homes before running away to come to the US.

He has lived here for about six years or so and has built quite a little "business" for himself.

He has a multitude of extremely wealthy clients, some who are even billionaires who shower him with gifts like $30,000 watches and the like. Many book him several times a week.

Averaging $6000 or so a week, he sends a large portion of the money he makes to his mother who still lives in Croatia. She just recently bought a new house.

Also he employs a full-time personal assistant and driver because he is terrified of driving and often confuses right and left (a side-effect of concentration camping) (yuck).

So...in a way it's kind of amazing that he has achieved so much (or at least made so much money) after having had such a hard childhood. And it's kind of noble what he is doing, and a little bit inspiring...

...until you remember that he's giving people handys for a living.

HOTTT DOGGGGG: Episode 3

After much pregaming we headed down the boulevard to HOT DOG.

Girls love The Dog.

It is easy to see why.

Also Danny and Thomas, my new gays, came.

I am so happy to have new gays.

And I am equally happy to have such Dog-loving friends (some clearly more intoxicated than others).

Also I am proud of Erin for managing to refrain from becoming a sketchball/going-home-with-random-gays-to-be-dressed-up-in-silly clothes-and-fawned-over.

Erin's BFF Bessie on the other hand?

Total sketchball.

I'm bringin' scallops back (yeah!)...

Just had a delicious lunch with the Grutzmachers at Sor Tino in Brentwood.

It's on Barrington just south of San Vicente.

Go go go go go

Nikki's Local 76 or something.

It's a stupid name for a bar.

But a very fun place.

TL brought Asian friends, one of whom looked like Hilary Duff with slanty eyes.

These chicks would later go on to vomit in a cab. And everywhere else.

Go Team Asia.

Also Doug lost his car/house keys.

This made for much funnery.

Puppies and the Gay Massuese

In the words of the New Year's text of the great Aly Parker, "DK Photo is SO HOT in '07!"

And it is true.

The beginning of '07 has seen my business expanding in all different directions.

Pet Photography...

...and Gay Masseuses.

Yes, a couple weeks ago I received an inquiry into doing headshots and "sexier pictures" for a masseur's webpage. Business was already going pretty well for him with his current kinda-crappy pictures, but he thought if he got hot new ones his business would double. (He makes $150 per session, an extra $300 for a "happy ending", and claims to average about $6000 a week)

We met. He seemed nice enough. Weird. Kinda Croatian-ish. Really annoying accent and personality. We shook hands. I quickly excused myself to wash mine. And then we took some photos.

He was hardly the hottest man I have ever seen. And the pictures were hardly the best pictures I've ever taken...

But for some reason he loved them.

So much so that he felt the need to run tip me.

And tip me.

And tip me.

Basically he just handed me a white envelope.

And I think it contained everything he had made today (about $1200).

I love my job and the crazies I'm proud to call my clients.

Children of Men

It's an f-ing incredible movie.

It takes place in a world about twenty years from now that has gone to shit. Violence, disease, and death are everywhere; all women across the globe have become infertile. The world's youngest citizen, an 18-year-old boy, has just been murdered, and humans are on the verge of extinction.

Set against a backdrop of London torn apart by violence and warring nationalistic sects, the world this movie creates is stunningly real and scarily believable.

Also the climax of the film features the longest, most unbelievablely awesome steadicam shot I have ever seen in my life.

Much better than Dreamgirls.

And also less singing.

Travel Dates!

NYC - Feb 13-20

Turban!

Which of the Apprentice hotties are going to hook up tonight?

Will Tim Urban be this season's Apprentice?

And more importantly, will Turban's picture boost DK HEADSHOT business in the 1st quarter of 2007?

The answer to all of the above: I sure as hell hope so.

(Except question 1)

YATTTAAAA!!!!

Last night Narns and I attended a BUEG (Brown Entertainment Group) Conversation hosted by Masi (of Heroes fame).

The funny thing is, he actually used to organize these things (the last one he organized was the one with John Krasinski from The Office) and he'd be the guy doing all the Q&A...but now that he's famous, he gets his own Conversation.

Weird how that works out.

.................

I want to host one.

Soon.

More WoW porn.

Michael Tan joining WoW might be one of the greatest events of 2007.

Kind of terrifying, though, that he joined just recently and I joined back in oh....September?....and already he has out-leveled me.

Michael Tan get a life.

Adam's B'day/Farewell

Said Happy Birthday and Goodbye to Adam who is leaving to film a new season of Road Rules which begins airing at the end of January.

VEGAS!!!

Munish, Dan, and assorted medschool buddies all went to Vegas for the weekend.

We love the Vegas.

We love attempting to win lots of money at the ghetto-est of places.

Also we love the Bellagio fountains.

And are sad every time the show ends.

Ghostbar at the top of the Palms is very cool with a sweet view of everything.

The Monte Carlo Brew Pub has some totally epic giant beer dispensing tube-things.

RumJungle is neat, although less fun with socially awkward medschool buddies who do not like to dance or talk to strangers.

But the dancers are fun to watch.

And the there is the late night wandering with the drunken poker playing and buffets that don't ever close.
