Day Three: Concert! (Saturday)

We woke up to rain.

Rain rain rain.

This happened every day.

We waited out the rain with brunch at Coop's Place...

Coop's sits just down the block from Brad and Angie's house...so we kept watch in case they were out and about...

Love me some fresh N'Orlins breakfast!

PWu not so much...

We started with Cajun Bloody Marys...

And then feasted on fried chicken, the breakfast of champions.

Also, the fried chicken was served atop a heap of rabbit jambalaya. Heaven.

After breakfast the sun came out and we found Seany up on the balcony of the Bourbon Pub.

Along with the sun came the haters...

And the fatsweats...

I hate haters.

Sean's friends The Wiggler and Dasian (David/Asian) joined us as well.

And we spotted Q.A.F.'s Robert Gant aka Professor Ben Bruckner.

By 5pm Bourbon street filled with people attending the free concert starring Deborah Cox.

There were like three acts preceding her though so after a few of them I bailed to go swimming.

We got to the concert early and thus were able secure a pretty awesome vantage point.

Personally I think the best part of the whole show though was The Prancing Rockets!

They are this super fierce group of skinny amazing superfab dancer-blacks.

They stole the show anytime they were on stage.

Performers showered the crowd with beads and gifts...

And gogo-dances starred our friends Giovanni and Jason from Micky's in L.A.!

After the concert, the bars of Bourbon St were overflowing with people.

We headed straight for our favorite 3-for-1 spot - Krazy Korner.

When we returned to the main intersection of Bourbon and St. Ann (where the majority of Southern Decadence action takes place) the Prancing Rockets were out doing a 2-hour street show.

They are absolutely incredible. They have a leader and he basically does a move and the rest will follow. They did the Single Ladies dance and the crowd went nuts.

In Sean's words, "I love how they are not hip-hop, they are like doo-wop..."

Also, whenever drunk people went in and invaded their circle trying to booty shake along with the music, they had like a totally coordinated response to wave them goodbye and dance them out of it. It was funniest thing I've ever seen.

Afterwards we hit the disco...

But it was so packed and we were so exhausted after a day full of entertainment.

So we headed back to Angeli for a spicy meatball.

And a scrumptious burger.

And then called it a night.
