Kristen & Chrispy's Wedding | Stowe, VT

I never posted about Chris and Kristen's Wedding, did I?

Probably because I didn't get finished editing all the pictures until this week. Yup. I took like 12,000 pictures which were edited down to about 1,500 (2,000 if you count the rehearsal dinner). That is how much I love these two.

The wedding took place September 28th up in Stowe, where we celebrated Con's Bachelorette and New Years 2011.

The morning of, even before hair and makeup, Krissy already looked radiant.

In fact it wasn't until after a little hair and makeup that she ended up looking like this:

Hilarious.

It is so fun shooting the wedding of one of your best best friends, because you know the day is going to be super chill and FUN and you get to hang out with them the entire day.

People ask me all the time, "don't you hate having to work your friends' weddings", and I say ABSOLUTELY NOT! When you are a random guest at a wedding you don't see the bride or groom until the ceremony and you get to hang out maybe 5 or 10 minutes if you're lucky before some other annoying wedding guest steals their attention. As the official photographer it is my job to be at their side ALL DAY LONG taking pictures, which I LOVE and would be doing anyway. You get to be at the center of the action and you get to see it all happen.

PLUS you get PAID. A LOT.

If you are a friend of mine who is yet to be married and you have ever considered maybe NOT hiring me because you wanted me to "enjoy the day", well, that is wrong. I will and I do.

Look how cute these girls are. I love them so much. Never would have gotten to see this if I had just been a guest at the wedding!

Kristen looked SKINNNNNY on her wedding day. Look at that hot corset!

Chrispy wasn't looking so bad either.

(Minus the massive chin-zit.)

They did their first look on this beautiful little bridge.

Awwwwww....

I feel like this photo encapsulates their relationship.

Awww Doug and PJ cleaned up for the wedding too!

This is one of my fave photos.

And I love love love this bridge.

Fall weddings in the northeast are just the best.

Look at this gorgeous family!

The ceremony took place in the Stowe Community Church right in downtown Stowe.

The ceremon was beauuuutiful.

The best part was when Kristen said, "I do" about 20 minutes before she was supposed to.

That got me some good reaction shots from the audience...

Yayyy married!!!! (P.S. I take full credit. More on this later.)

The reception took place at the Stowe Mountain Lodge. If you've ever gone skiing up at Stowe, you'll recognize it as the Great Room of the Cafeteria. Amazing how they are able to convert it.

There were a lot of Brown people on hand!

And all the Gastler cousins were there too. LOVE THEM.

Connie got dipped during their grand entrance and it looked hilarious...

And then during Chris and Kristen's first dance...

He grabbed her ass.

It was pretty funny.

And then he also busted out a shocker. Classy, Chris!

My table was made up of the New York/former New York crew.

Love being a working guest because then I don't have to worry about when I'm going to be fed!

The dance party was ridiculous. Between Kristen's friends and Chris's friends...everywhere I turned it was just non-stop hilarity.

And there was a lot of drinking.

And their band was epic.

OK. So you may or may not know the story of how Chris and Kristen came to be.

I had tried to set Chris and Kristen up multiple times on a pseudo-blind date when they were both single. Kristen was pretty game for being set up, Chris was very iffy about it and was going to do it but then flaked out a few times.

Then came my Halloween Party 2010. Chris didn't have a Halloween costume so he borrowed my taco costume I had worn the year before.

It was an instant hit, obviously. And Kristen was immediately charmed by this dashing young taco. Problem was that Kristen was at my party with a date, so she wasn't technically available. This was probably for the best since Chris was now instantly regretting not asking her out several months prior when he had the chance.

Thus ensued multiple days of scheming and g-chat conversations between the two of them and me as the middleman.

I have pages and pages of this stuff. But here's the best part where I finally convinced Chris to ask her out and where Kristen was convinced that it would be totally harmless to just meet Chris out for a casual drink. The rest is history.

I was usually chatting with both of them in adjacent g-chat windows, so I would just copy and paste what one person said into the other. It was totally ridiculous.

Modern matchmaking y'all!

This part is really cute. Forgive Chrispy for his horrendous spelling ability.

So anyway, they ended up getting married, as you know. So for their wedding gift I thought it would be fun and make for great photos if I bought a bunch of taco costumes to commemorate their first meeting.

So I ordered a couple hundred dollars worth of taco suits.

I love Kristen's face here when she realizes that there as an incoming taco brigade.

For those of you who don't know Kristen personally, she has the most amazing contagious laugh. She laughs at pretty much everything, but it is a loud genuine laugh that fills a room and just makes you feel warm and wonderful and like you're the funniest person on the planet. (Although if you are complete stranger sitting behind her on say...an airplane... it is the bane of your existence and you berate her as you deplane saying things like, "Never have I heard such a CACKLE." It has happened. I was there.)

Anyway, Kristen's laugh is truly a gift to those that are lucky enough to know her and seeing her SO HAPPY made me and everyone around her feel so great. She honestly must've been laughing the majority of the day.

And I KNEW these tacos would be a hit.

So anyway...the rest of the night was off the hook. So much fun. And so much sweat.

One of the best weddings ever!

There's something so sexy about a loosened bow-tie. I'm going to start rocking that.

Love this shot I got from outside. The End. Goodnight!
