Thanksgiving almost always = eatparty x 5
This year started with an Italian pre-birthday feast.

Then for actual Thanksgiving day we had a turducken. (A chicken stuffed inside a duck stuffed inside a turkey.)
Not quite sure how they do it but they somehow remove all the bones of said birds and stuff one inside another inside the turkey and it still just looks like a turkey oh and they also cram in a bunch of stuffing, or in our case Cajun Jambalaya.

Bird gluttony was preceded by a light salad of citrus, endive, onion, and spinach.

This is what the turducken looks like inside. Honestly most of the time I had no idea what I was eating.

We were joined by Uncle Dick, Auntie Alice, Zoe, and DrDan whose wife and baby left him behind to fend for himself on Thanksgiving (he was on call at the hospital).

Yummmm.

The day after I drove down to Connecticut to the Gastler estate for what was sure to be another adventure in gluttony. (I was there
last year as well.)
We went to a Christmas tree farm to
destroy some nature find the Gastler's annual tree.

So many choices!

We scoured acres and acres of treeland...

Took pics of potential candidates...

And climbed around and acted like monkys...

It was freeeeeezing.

But finally one was crowned the winner.

It was promptly chopped down and dragged home.

And then we eated.

And Kristen and I spent the rest of the weekend playing non-stop games of Words with Friends on our iPhones. So addictive.
