Happy Thanksgiving!!!

It was a wonderful Thanksgiving up in Chester, CT with the Gastler/Bhandari/Palmisano clan.

Aunt Deb made a 25 lb turkey.

It was STUFFED with stuffing.

And it was Lillifer's first thanksgiving!

Yayyy! (So cute seeing Grandma photobombing/looking on so happily.)

This turkey smelled soooooy good.

Uncle Felly did the carving.

Kristen did the amazing table setting...

And then we poured turkey drippings into the gravy...

And it was the most delicious gravy I've ever had in my life.

YAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY

We loves a turkey leg!

I'm so grateful to be welcomed by this amazing family.

Heaven on a plate.

Even Izzy got a few scraps.

AND then! Connie brought out a birthday surprise for me... Meatball "Cupcakes"!!!

The most beautiful delicious birthday cake I have ever had in my life!!!!!

Yayyy!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I'm off to Vegas!

Thanksgiving Throwback 2012

On Thanksgiving, Con was SO pregs and miserable.

And yet she took on the task of hosting thanksgiving for like 16 of us!

Last year we had delicious buttery shallots with our turkey dinner standards...

But of course Felly snacked on a turkey sandwich before our feast.

And AC and Shiri were on their honeymoon adventure and were sorely missed...

Stuffing is like my favorite thanksgiving food.

Laura brought a pie...

I'm not sure if this was a turkey or some kind of flatchicken. It looks like a flatchicken.

And preggocon mashed all these delicious potatoes...

We used to have so much fun in the city! Kind of sad that now everyone has moved out or is in the process of it.

Krissy made her signature brussel sprouts...

Chrispy did what he does best. Eating.

This is what those finished buttery shallots look like... YUM.

I heart thanksgiving.

A time of pure joy and contentment and friendship and love.

Izzy is the cutest bear-dog there ever was.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Dad may have ruined the turkey.

I am thankful for Costco frozen appetizers.

And for Bieber.

Thangsiving 2010

Thanksgiving almost always = eatparty x 5

This year started with an Italian pre-birthday feast.

Then for actual Thanksgiving day we had a turducken. (A chicken stuffed inside a duck stuffed inside a turkey.)

Not quite sure how they do it but they somehow remove all the bones of said birds and stuff one inside another inside the turkey and it still just looks like a turkey oh and they also cram in a bunch of stuffing, or in our case Cajun Jambalaya.

Bird gluttony was preceded by a light salad of citrus, endive, onion, and spinach.

This is what the turducken looks like inside. Honestly most of the time I had no idea what I was eating.

We were joined by Uncle Dick, Auntie Alice, Zoe, and DrDan whose wife and baby left him behind to fend for himself on Thanksgiving (he was on call at the hospital).

Yummmm.

The day after I drove down to Connecticut to the Gastler estate for what was sure to be another adventure in gluttony. (I was there last year as well.)

We went to a Christmas tree farm to destroy some nature find the Gastler's annual tree.

So many choices!

We scoured acres and acres of treeland...

Took pics of potential candidates...

And climbed around and acted like monkys...

It was freeeeeezing.

But finally one was crowned the winner.

Photobucket

It was promptly chopped down and dragged home.

And then we eated.

And Kristen and I spent the rest of the weekend playing non-stop games of Words with Friends on our iPhones. So addictive.
