Naia, bless her beautiful beating heart, invited us to the Family & Friends Premiere of
SUPERMAN RETURNS up at the Warner Brothers lot yesterday afternoon.
As we pulled up to Gate 5, there was a brief moment of horror when my name "wasn't on the list". (Cue seizure-inducing flashbacks to Naia's birthday party.)
Luckily, it was all just a mistake and it turned out that the list-checker girl was a moron with the reading skills of a blueberry muffin.
We arrived to a packed theater (500-ish people) and were forced to sit near the front, which actually turned out to be yay because Bryan Singer himself was there to introduce his movie.
He was very cute and nervous.

The movie opened to screams and cheers and it really is the only way to watch a superhero movie.

The opening credits sent chills through my entire body.
They were sooooo good.

We watched probably the first hour of the movie all giggling and giddy and stupid, still not believing that we were actually watching SUPERMAN.
Oh it is good.
Brandon Routh? Gooooooood.

When the credits finally rolled 2 1/2 hours later, the house lights came on, there was a standing ovation, and Brandon Routh and Kevin Spacey "surprised us" by stepping out of the shadows and onto the stage.
It took several minutes for the applause to die down.

Afterwards there was a reception, at which Naia was that girl.

Also........there was wine.

In the far more articulate and wit-filled words of the great Megoon:
"As far as the movie goes, I can't give an unbiased review. You will not have it introduced by an endearingly, pants-crappingly nervous Bryan Singer. Nor will Brandon Routh and Kevin Spacey bound on stage afterwards, to tout our presence and support and explain what those little green men in the HBO First Look special were doing behind the Man of Steel. That said, you'll still see the close-up of a bullet bouncing off Superman's eye, and all of Parker Posey's batty hairstyles. The movie was pretty awesome."WE SAW SUPERMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NAIA WE LOVE YOU
