Happy Belated St Patty's!

I have a lot of catching up to do. Way behind on blogging. (Sorry Kurt!) (Kurt's been bugging me for days because he wants to see pretty pictures of himself from Connie's epic birthday dinner last week.)

I blame Friday Night Lights.

The good news is I finished Season 4.

I know. I am a terrible person and I shouldn't have skipped ahead and watched it online when the rest of America doesn't get to watch it until May 7th on NBC. (Yes they pushed back the premiere again.)

But I have no self control. So I watched it.

Don't worry, I won't tell you how I felt about it or ruin it in any way.

..............................

Anyway. St Patty's!

I got to wear the pretty green vest Anne and Felix gave me for my birthday.

We met up in the West Village at the Slaughtered Lamb.

Drank green beer.

Fun fun.

My poop turned green.

AMERICAN IDOL!!!!

So it was the big day.

Evan and I decided to make signs and dress in green in order to:

A. Properly celebrate St. Patty's Day.

B. Get noticed by our favorite performer/judge.

and

C. Get on TV.

....................................

Still can't get over how much Evan looks like Bobby.

We got to CBS, where the show is being filmed, and the line was insane. Outside, and around the block.

Happily I brought my cripplewheels and we got to skip all that nonsense and go in through the friends and family/handicapped entrance.

And, because I'm "unable to do stairs", we pretty much sat in front. 2nd row left.

Right behind all the families of the contestants.

It was country night. And everyone sounded AMAZING live.

Also, the stage is ENORMOUS.

They only ever show the bottom half on TV because the band sits in the top half.

The cheering and loud music really helps to hide a bad performance, because later on when we watched it back on West Coast feed, we definitely noticed some not-awesomeness that was not apparent during the live taping.

During commercial breaks, Simon turned and waved and blew kisses at us constantly. He really liked our poster.

They also had a little audience wrangler who keeps everyone's energy up by being kind of funny, kind of douchey, bringing people on stage to sing (Lil Rounds's sister below), and passing out awesome free stuff.

Stupid Evan almost won an iPod Touch when he claimed to be "The Biggest Country Music Fan EVER." But when asked to name three Randy Travis songs (Randy was the mentor that night) he totally failed to name even one.

Randy was not pleased.

..........................................

After the taping, we got a special performance by Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis.

Evan really was the biggest country music fan though, and knew like every song.

When I got home, we were sitting on the couch when Eric called me.

He was with the kids at their Bel Air mansion and he put Kris on the line!

So cool!

Kinda awkward.

But so cool!

After we chatted, Eric came back on and said he had a "huge favor" to ask of me.

He had two tickets for tomorrow's show that he couldn't get rid of.

Looks like we're going back for the results show!

So awesome.

AND...we were all over the telecast!

I think for the results show I'll bring a big "DKHeadshots.com"sign.

30 million people...there's gotta be a headshot client or two in there somewhere...

San Franciscoooo

So I love daytime flying. Even if I am stuck on some god-awful United flight with a bitchy queen flight attendant who sticks his nose up a little higher each time he walks by my row.

Goodbye beautiful Los Angeles!

Hello beautiful cloud magic land!

One hour later...and I'm in the SFO.

Picked up my rental car. Hit up downtown.

Paid Ralph a visit.

And finally arrived at Hua's pad, also known as GotGame HQ.

From there we headed to Isa - delicious Asian seafoody fusion restaurant - to meet up with VVR.

Food = FOOD = FOOOOOOOOOOODDDDD

After that we hit up a local tavern for some St. Patty's Day Celebrating.

(Apparently the Pope said we could celebrate St. Patty's on Saturday but I don't think everyone got the memo.)

Victoria just happened to have Cadbury Creme Eggs in her purse. Amazing.

Also present? Deerfield people!

Last time I saw Textor was at that charity event in Tarzana...

...and weirdness? In a week he's going to start working for GotGame with Hua!

Over the course of the evening, randoms kept coming up to Victoria and I to take pictures with us.

Weird.

I think it was combination Tall-Asian/Giant-Hat.

Happy St. Patty's Laddys!

St. Patty's Day!!!

After a little prepartying at Tim's new HK apartment with a bunch of D.A. peeps and a teenager or two...

We headed to Mint. A club where you have to be an invited member with your fingerprint on file...

And lots of people wait downstairs, only to not get in.

Also there is a shark tank.

Luckily, we were with TimLoh.

And of course you know what that means...

I think we might have been the only people celebrating St. Patty's. Everyone else there was kind of just dressed in whatever and kind of ugly. Although, I really don't remember it that clearly.

I do know that at one point some dummy ordered double-tequila shots.

And then it was all over.

It took me three days to put up these pictures because that is how long it took me to recover.
