Watch What Happens Live!!!

Megoon brought me to a taping of Watch What Happens Live on Tuesday night.

When you enter you immediately are greeted in the tiny reception area/bar. And they immediately start getting you DRUNK.

Then you go into the studio, which is tiny.

And they keep getting you DRUNK.

Then the guests come on...and you scream and scream and cheer (DRUNK).

Tonight's guests were Henry Winkler and Andrew Rannells (star of Book of Mormon and The New Normal and Girls)...they were awesome and hilarious.

This is how small the audience is.

Which is why all the drinking and screaming.

It was such fun!

And the guest bartender was Stacey somethingrather...the girl who played Tara Collette's stripper sister on Friday Night Lights!!!

We LOVES Bravo!!!!!!!!

New York effing City

I left my apartment this morning to someone yelling, "ROLLING!!!...wait...Cut! CUTTT!!!!" Because I had literally walked right onto a movie set - in between Adam Sandler and a camera crew filming his upcoming movie "The Cobbler" outside my front door.

And that was the LEAST exciting thing that happened today.

From there I was on my way to SoHo House to pick up my brand new membership card and get my orientation.

Literally I was handed my card and I thought, "The rest of my life begins today."

For those of you who keep asking what SoHo House is and why it's such a big deal, watch the Sex and the City clip where it's featured...

After my orientation I ended up staying there all morning doing work on my computer and having breakfast and coffee and being generally fabulous.

It was amazing. I love it. My new home.

At 1pm I went uptown to do a corporate headshot shoot for this fabulous tech marketing company that I've been doing lots of shoots for.

This is my 3rd time shooting their people, so now we have our routine down and it's a breeze and I just basically hang out with my awesome contact person there, Samantha, and we chat and giggle and gossip.

Today I taught them Asian Poses. My job is the best job. I know it.

After shooting 9 people over the course of 2 hours (9 corporate shots x $250 = $2250 woo!) I ran home to drop off my cameras.

I was also informed the company will be flying me to SF in two weeks to shoot their SF and European teams. (30 people or something, triple-woo!)

I got home, dropped of my cameras, and then headed up to Lincoln Square IMAX where Megoon had invited me to an advance screening of Hunger Games 2: Catching Fire.

(Goon's friend's step-daddy is the prez of IMAX, what.ever.)

The movie was AMAZING. Stressful, but amazing.

Also, Liam Hemsworth is too beautiful for words.

After THAT we went downtown to Olive's by Todd English at the W Hotel Union Square where my dear friend and headshot client (and Penelope Cruz clone) Merly was bartending.

She hooked us up with drinks and delicious food.

Including rabbit pasta...

(SOFA. KING. DELICIOUS.)

Crab toast...

And the MOST DELICIOUS SOUFFLE I've ever had in my life.

After wayyyy to many beers and vodka sodas I shouted across the bar, "MERLY! Does Todd English ever come in here?"

She gestured over to the corner and was like, "Dude! He's right over there!"

It was such a only-in-New-York(or LA) moment.

Turns out Merly and Todd are besties and so she brought him over and we got to chat him up and take a photo.

No big deal. Just Todd English. One big-time-iest chefs in America.

You may recall our very first outing to Olive's Las Vegas during our epic Celine Dion Adventure.

Not only an amazing chef/restauranteur but a total hunk as well.

I love this frickin' city.

BRAVOOOOO

Megoon sent me an email this morning that made me SOOOOO jealous.

I pretty much exclusively watch BRAVO these days. And Megoon just got a big new job over at BRAVO. So of course as soon as she did I knew it would be a very exciting new time in our lives. I cannot wait until she is RUNNING THE NETWORK. (After all, Andy Cohen has way too many other things going on these days, right?)

So anyway. Here is Megoon's email.

from: MVK
12:00 PM (6 hours ago)

to Jihan, me
I went to the Bravo upfront party last night and saw ALL THE BRAVOLEBRITIES. Brandi. Kandi. Padma. Kyle and Mauricio. Porsha. Kenya. Phaedra (ok, Phaedra had already left). Patti Stanger. Brad Brad World. Everyone from Vanderpump Rules, who were surprisingly normal. Reza from Shahs of Sunset, who gave me a hug. When I told the new guy on Million Dollar Listing New York that he brought wonderful energy to the new season, his eyes misted over and he clasped my hand. There were sandcastles everywhere and it was like being inside a Summer By Bravo on-air promo. I tried to think of the two people in the world who would appreciate this the most, so here you go! AHHHHH BEST NIGHT EVER.

I hope I'm invited to the next one. It was be really really really special. Like REALLY SPECIAL.

MEGOON. WORK YOUR MAGICALS.

In other news, I found a better pillowfight picture from Perez's birthday. Wheee!

Melanie & Willis's Wedding

In the great bridal spectrum, most brides fall into the average to below average category...they're the best they've ever looked...but it's still...meh......they're a pigeon disguised as a seagull.

The average DK bride is generally above average or top 10%. These brides radiate beauty, elegance, and general splendor on a daily basis. They are the flawless doves of brideland.

And then there's Melanie. The great white swan bride.

Mel was put on this earth to wear a wedding dress. Definitely a 1%-er.

Literally, when the doors opened and she walked into the room escorted by DK2 (her big brudder), there was a collective gasp.

(I've heard gasps before, but usually it's because someone trips and falls down some stairs.)

Megoon was a beautiful bridesmatron.

The ceremony was cute. The reverend yelled at the photographer for not sitting during his sermon.

"But I'm the photographer!" she whined...
He just shrugged... "Please sit."

Normally if I'm working, I HATE a strict rev, but in this case, as a guest, I grinned from ear to ear. The photographer had yelled at me when she accidentally backed her head into my camera while I taking a shot. "You have to keep at least TWO FEET AWAY FROM ME!!!") We could have been friends. But instead she chose to be enemies. Bad choice, lady.

Ahem.

Back to the wedding.

SO cute!

I just love Megoon's family.

DK2, what a hunk!

Between the ceremony and reception we had a 40-minute break. So Goon's brilliant brother and sister suggested we run to the closest CVS to get a print of an epic shot I had just taken at the ceremony.

Imagine the gleeful expression below except looking at the framed photo I had just given them. It was pretty much the same.

Oooh! There was a fun photo booth. I've decided to add a photobooth service as an an add-on to my wedding package. So easy and I can probably charge an extra 1K-1.5K. Woo!

I had also taken Mellis's engagement pic, which was prominently displayed. Yay....

Ohhhh after eating and dancing, there was a PIE BAR.

LOVES a pie barrrrr!!!!!!!!

The photobooth got kinda silly.

Oooh I think I may be shooting a Miami wedding for Hot Keith (below) and his fiance. Yayyyyy...

Loves fancy weddings leading to other fancy weddings!

Oh...I forgot to mention the entire day was INCREDIBLY SCORCHINGLY HOT.

But once we were drunky, it didn't matter.

Meg's mom got stepped on and rolled her ankle. Sadface. (I do love how DK2's mom seems to think it's hilarious though.)

Wheeeee!!!!

Air guitars!

Geek glasses!

The End.

Congratulations Mellis!!!!!
