Ultimate Rugby Sh*tshow

Sunday we attended the final rounds of the Rugby Sevens at Hong Kong Stadium.

I think it's safe to say that Rugby Sevens is unlike any other sporting event in the world.

First off: people get dressed in crazy costumes.

Friends and coworkers coordinate their costumes weeks in advance, many getting their costumes custom made for the occasion:

Others just slap on a sweet wig and *poof*, you're in costume.

There is no shortage of weird/fun/hilarious costumes and/or t-shirts:

We watch Rugby...

(Kind of.)

Hang out with our favorite people...

Eat yummy beef pies...

Hot dogs...

And fried chickon.

And enjoy delightful alcohol-free beverages.

Another thing that happens, which I've never seen anywhere, is that as people drink more and more, they start just throwing shit into the crowd, be it a cup of beer, a pitcher of Pimm (delicious alcoholic iced tea), or a bucket of half-eaten chicken and bones.

It is serious insanity. People chug beers out of smelly old shoes, give each other super atomic mega-wedgies, and build towers out of their alcohol pitchers which then become targets for EVERYONE to throw their beers/pitchers/chicken bones at.

Truly. Incredibly. Sh*t-tastic.

Special thanks go to Timmo who hooked up the tickets and costumes.

RUGBY! Who knew?
