The Adventures of Flat Stanley
Flat Stanley is Matt's little sister's cut-out paper doll school project that he has been assigned to bring on his fabulous adventures around the world. Anytime Matt does something neat or goes somewhere fun, he brings Flat Stanley along and snaps a picture to send back to his sister's 3rd grade class.
It's quite possibly the most brilliant pick-up tactic ever.

Stanley and his daddies.

Stanley and the LA Models.

Stanley and the $70,000 Louis Vuitton trunk.

Stanley and Eva Mendes.

I am just a weird giant with a camera...
...but give me Walter.
And I will give you this:

We took 400 pictures. These are six of them.
I can't figure out if it's me. Or him. Or me. Or him.
Either way. Somebody did some good work and I am proud.
Thank you, Wally.

Manixview at the Abbey
Pepperdine junior Brad is working on a sociology paper in which he is forced to put himself in a situation outside of his comfort zone.
He decided he wanted to go to a gay bar.
In doing so he decided to bring along two of his Texan girl-friends (uh oh) and Matt. I excitedly tagged along as soon as I heard about the project. I knew it would be fun to walk around the Abbey with Matty in tow (hotness by association, baby!).
I don't know what they all were expecting. I think the guys were expecting to be molested by thong-clad gogo dancers or farted on by a drag queen. I mean, there ARE places like that...but the Abbey isn't one of them.
So right before we turned the corner onto Robertson, Brad stopped us and announced, "OK guys. So we're not going to tell them that we're straight. But we're not going to tell them we're gay either...because I'm definitely not..." (As if gay bars force you to announce your straightness at the door or wear sexuality name tags.) "We'll just say we're here.......to have conversations..."
(shaking my head) Silly Christians.
Well...it was uneventful. We all had a good time. They were amazed at how ridiculously nice the bar was and that there was no cover. Talked to some dude with metal spikes in his head. Bumped into a bunch of Matt's beautiful model friends. And in the end they decided it was a cool place they would definitely go to again with friends.
Hooray for open-mindedness.

They did, however, opt to pee in the stalls instead of the urinals.

In other news, I finally took some pics of Meredith yesterday.

Celebs, Horsies, and Euge's 4th date
Sunday morning started with a delightful brunch with my little Smershio.
We were discussing Angels & Demons, which then turned into a discussion about The Da Vinci Code, which then turned into us realizing we were sitting next to Colin Hanks! (Tom's kid/star of Orange County)

After brunch, Katie was on her way to Santa Anita racetrack for Andreas's birthday party. By total coincidence, Steven, Eugene's gay sugar-daddy, was also taking Euge and his best friend Scotty to watch the horsies run. Already they've been to a movie premiere, a fantastic unnamed Japanese restaurant, and KOI (one of the most expensive LA hotspots). Realizing this was going to be an amazing opportunity to spy on Eugene and get priceless photos of priceless Steven, I went.
At the racetrack, we saw horsies.

We spotted Euge, Scotty, and Euge's man downstairs and went to greet them. (We were sitting up in the pricey seats overlooking the commonfolk.)
THEY WERE WEARING THE SAME OUTFIT.

Reminder: Eugene is allegedly not gay.
Allegedly.
After a few minutes, Katie and I retreated upstairs to say goodbye and go home.
But of course our curiousity got the best of us and our crew stayed to spy, just in case the two started making out.
For some strange reason, they stayed...long after everyone else had gone home.

Could it be true love?

3 1/2 inches of ABSOLUTE POWER
Last night ROCKED.
Everyone and their mommies came out to the Abbey, the gay mecca of the gay mecca that is West Hollywood. And Toni (Kristy's sister) is in town!
Why did it rock?
Well...the friends, obviously. Having all the peeps out hanging with the gays is something truly special.

And the vomiting of others is always fun...

But what truly truly incredibly oh my god rocked and could quite possibly be the most monumental change in my life?
MY NEW BUSINESS CARDS.

There was a beautiful beautiful waiter boy named Ryan. Word on the street is that he's an actor, like everyone else. Also, he's straight.
Katie and I tried to talk to him. He was a little stand-offish, probably because he turned heads wherever he went and people used any excuse to talk to him, which probably gets quite annoying. Especially if you're having a bad day like he said he was. I was disappointed.
Kristy talked to him.
"Hi!"
"What's up?"
"Nothing. We just think you're hot."
(sly grin) (pause) "So...(flirty head tilt)...what's up?"
"Nothing. That's all I got. (shrug) Bye!"
She just turned on her heel and walked away, without looking back. It was so awesome.
Three mojitos later, my confidence was running high and I decided to approach Ryan one last time before leaving the bar.
I handed him my card. He warmed immediately:
"Hey Ryan, this is probably totally lame because I'm sure you get this all the time...but I just wanted to tell you I think you're ridiculously good-looking and I would love to take pictures of you for my portfolio..."
"Wait, you're a photographer?"
"Yup."
"Cool! I'll call you tomorrow!"
He hasn't called yet. He probably never will...but still....I feel incredibly awesome.
I think the symbiotic relationships between actors/models and photographers are fantastic and I look forward to many more.
The ride home was fun:

Also, yesterday we saw David Carradine (AKA Bill, from Kill Bill) at LAX waiting for his ride. He looked bad-ass.

St Pattys
My head hurts. A little bit more than a lot.
We drove through Venice. Main St. was packed. No way we were getting in anywhere.
We went to Over-Under. The place was full of older people and was scarily well-lit for a bar. We left.
Drove by Busby's. Line around the block.
So of course, we ended up at Q's.
Huge line. Ushered in like rockstars.
LOVE Q's.

Day Two of Blastastic-ness
So it's been almost two days now since I launched DennyKwan.com, and I have to say I'm totally amazed and overwhelmed by the wonderful messages and emails people have sent (and in response to a MASSIVE mass email, too!).

Anyway. It really pumps me up to have so many supportive friends and family members around and I'm really excited for the weeks/months/years to come now that I have a strong jumping-off point.
Please check the site often because new additions are constantly in the works. I apologize in advance (my 6 or so loyal readers) if I end up neglecting the world of EggFury at times to work on DennyKwan stuff.
Below is a little project Ryan and I worked on today.

Subject: do you like my glaaaaaaasses
Hi Denny (I like it).
Wanna go glasses shopping on Saturday?? Come on...it will be lots of fun. The more accessories you can wear on your face the better. We can even do it on Melrose kind of with Kristy and Toni.
If not glasses shopping then what would you like to do?

Rasta-heads and photo fun...and meatballs.
Megoon texted me last night.
"I WILL BE PRETTY IN THE MORNING."
Apparently she was going to bed in pin-curls so that it would be wavy and glamourous for our photoshoot this morning.
I called her around 10am.
"So...I hear you look beauuuutiful today..."
"Yeah...I was wrong."
"Why?"
"I have dreadlocks."
I didn't believe her at first. But Sandra's in town visiting so we went to visit Meg at Ashes & Snow for the eleventy-billionth time.

Also took some fun pictures of Sandra.

And went to Al Gelato for the greatest giant meatball on Earth.

Yes, it takes up the entire dish.
