Confessions of a Karaoke Queen

KDG's 24th Birthday Spectacular started a bit early.

After some delicious homemade cake...

...we arrived at the bar around 8:30, eager to kick off the karaoke shenanigans.

Goons and Gene got off to a rocky start as Gwyneth & Huey, singing "Cruisin'".

The regular Brown kids were in attendance.

As was a wild assortment of Brownie visitors.

And unwanted guests.

And in our ongoing effort to make Chrispy look comparatively presentable-ish in pictures, we were ehhhh.....somewhat successful.

Some old woman crashed the party...

And Andreas and Meghan humored her by dancing with her a little.

The last thing I remember is poking her in the head, her turning around, and me shouting, "WHO ARE YOUUUUU??!?!?!?!"

I think everyone had a blast though.

Happy Birthday my little Smershmallow!!!!

Spider fun.

I helped Bjoern move yesterday. We're taking everything out of his little studio, where he's lived for the past ten years, and moving it to an awesome little hilltop house in Los Feliz.

He cooked me lunch. Which was really cute because it was a total boy-cooked lunch. Pasta with sauce. I thought the effort was very sweet.

Also, a giant black spider crawled slowly down my arm while we were moving.

I couldn't do anything about it because I was in the middle of carrying a large cardboard box of very expensive stuff with Bjoern.

It was terrifying. It was horrible.

And the worst part is, I didn't want Bjoern to know I was scared of spiders.

So I closed my eyes, quickened my pace (nearly causing BJ to trip backwards over his feet), and screamed quietly into my soul.

BLACKOUT THURSDAY!!!!

Finally had the time to upload some new photo albums!!!!

Campus Dance and April Pictures.

-------------------------------------------------------

It was a typically wonderful night at Q's...

We ate some delicious foods.

Enjoyed some delicious company.

And Doug and I sacrificed our good looks in order to make Chrispy look good.

Q's is a good place.

Much excitement a-brewin'

Career-related happenings have been on the upswing this week.

On top of receiving several headshot inquiries and booking a couple clients, I've recruited a street team to publicize my services, gone on several part-time job interviews, turned down a job offer with CBS:

And eaten a delicious chicken meatloaf sandwich.

In somewhat related news, our friend Matt has booked some major gigs this week. First, he shot an ad for Chrome Hearts with the 19-year-old daughter of a certain rock icon. And the following day he shot the cover of Vanity Fair! (He'll be an accessory to a certain young TV starlet set to attend a fictional Brown University in the upcoming season of her faltering former-hit show.)

Matt has also finally put me in touch with his agent, who likes my work and who is hopefully going to take me for a "test drive", shooting new models for their agency!

AND Katie's birthday party is this weekend.

It's all so exciting!

$100??? To drink VODKA?????

Oh yes, I volunteered as soon as I saw the word vodka followed by a dollar sign.

Last night, Ryan and I went over to the Matt and Kristy Jewett's to be part of a Vodka Focus Group.

Basically we were paid to drink various flavors of vodka and discuss our feelings about different brands and flavors and the feelings elicited by various advertising campaigns.

It was pretty awesome.

We got drunk. Had fun. And at the end of two hours were paid $100 each, with which we went and purchased delicious Wahoo's fish tacos. And several Coronas.

G.P. Dubya!!!!

It's Gay Pride Weekend!

The straights came along to enjoy the festivities.

There were gays as far as the eye could see.

The Grand Marshals were Lupe Ontiveros (pictured below) , of Desperate Housewives and Selena fame, and Marissa Jaret Winokur, former star of Hairspray, the play.

Countless hot bodies were on hand to make sure I felt really really bad about myself.

Even Dorian, my very first friend in LA, made an appearance.

As did Twirling Old Umbrella Man...

And Janice Dickinson(!!!!!!!!!!!!!), who looked totally hot and was met with the loudest cheers of any of the floats/celebrities.

Santa Monica Blvd. was completely packed with gays from Fairfax down to Doheny...

Following the parade, we wandered over to the Abbey, where gogo-boys and gogo-girls were doing their thing all over the place.

And we bumped into QueerEye Jai!

And some scary tranny with a Superman tattoo.

Following the day's festivities, Katie cooked a most delicious (and healthy!) meal.

We concluded the evening with the Season Premiere of Entourage.

Did you see it?

It was sooooo good.

Bri's Brithday!!!

Had a delicious tequila-fueled dinner for Bri's birthday.

The food consisted of head-sized burritos, among other things.

A mariachi band serenaded the birthday girl with interesting renditions of "Happy Birthday" and "Guantanamera".

Following dinner, we returned to Smershio's beach pad to warm up our drinking shoes and dancing hats.

BROWN!!!

We actually didn't even need to leave the apartment...

...but we did anyway. And ended up at Circle Bar.

Kevin joins the cast today. Sadly, he'll be leaving soon for a new job...in China.

We're getting him prepped in the ways of the Asian, though.
