SF EatParty

So I was in SF last week for a wedding in Napa over the weekend.

I crashed with Yeebee and we ate fried chickens.

Bacon-wrapped mochis...

Japanese Meatballs...

And Ramen...SO GOOD.

I met up with LC (who was going to be attending the wedding I was shooting) and we wandered around SF.

And ate CARNITAS.

And THEN (no "And Then!") we went to Off the Grid.

A weekly celebration of FoodTrucks.

30 or so amazingly delicious foodtrucks, all in one place.

We went as a group so that we could sample EVERYTHING our little hearts and tummies desired.

Meat Empanada...

Korean sandwiches...

This thing was SO epic.

These Bulgogi/Rice Sandwiches and Korean BBQ meat-covered FrenchFries were FUCKING DELICIOUS.

Famous Pork and Garlic Noodles too. SO GOOD.

Steph and Euge were there.

Doug was there. (I just love seeing people on consecutive weeks on erm... consecutive coasts...)

Eugene literally could not contain his eatparty excitement.

Because we had MAC AND CHEESE SPRING ROLLS.

And fried chicken sandwiches

EATPARTYYYYYYY

We are obeses.

We are monsters.

Obese-Hunter Michelle Obama is not very happy with us.

ScoutMob!!!

Oh the flash sale. I used to be CRAZY about Groupon when I first found out about it.

I'd jump on every deal of the day. Then I came to the realization that going out of your way to try to spend all your Groupons is kind of annoying. So I've stopped Grouponing for the most part.

But now along comes ScoutMob.

It's like Groupon, except you don't have to pay in advance for the deals!

It's just AMAZING deals that just show up on your phone.

If you've got no plans for lunch and just want a good deal that's near you, it'll tell you all the restaurants in your area that are offering 50% off whatever you buy.

Today I tried it out. And there just happened to be this little restaurant I'd never even known existed around the corner from me.

I had a max discount of $15, so OF COURSE I'm going to max it out and buy $30 worth of food.

So I ordered a Spicy Mexican Burger...

A Spicy Chicken Taco...
A Roast Pork Taco...
And a Carne Asada Taco...

And a Spicy Chicken Quesadilla and a Carne Asada Quesadilla...

You know you're an obese when they provide you with three sets of plasticware for your meal.

But even then it was only $13!!!!

And the great thing is that although you're only supposed to use each coupon once, as of now their system for tracking which coupons have been used or not used is quite inefficient and technically you can keep reusing your coupons and getting the same deal day after day. (The deals are available from a few weeks to up to a few months.)

No idea how Scoutmob makes any sense to the businesses featured. But yay for us consumers!

Download it on your iPhone or mobile device now!

FYI...I'm not REALLY going to eat all the food in one sitting. I promise.

Non-stop Chinktown

Over the past four days I've eaten in Chinatown on three separate occasions.

Do I have a problem?

Probably.

My problem is: I RUV FOOD.

More specifically: I RUV DUMPERRRING.

My favorite new discovery (when I'm not at Tasty Hand-Pulled Noodle) is Shanghai Cuisine at the corner of Bayard and Mulberry Street.

I went there with TimLoh and friends for Sunday brunch and it was actually part 2 of a 2-part Chinatown feast and I had just been there the day before.

Also none of these idiots had ever used or heard of the iPhone app Bump which is truly awesome because you just bump your phones together to swap contact information, pictures, etc. and they all downloaded and we spent hours bumping stuff to each other.

Yesterday Felly got back from London/Paris/Turkey and had a few extra vacation days left so we tried again to go to Shanghai Cuisine.

Unfortunately they are closed Tuesdays so we settled on an old favorite, New Green Bo, which sillily has been renamed "Nice Green Bo".

Oh those Asians.

SUR: Best Lunch Ever

For lunch we hit up my favorite WeHo restaurant: Sur.

With a decor that reminds me of South Beach and a waitstaff that consists solely of runway models, it's a super sweet and not-too-expensive place for lunch or brunch.

They serve awesome White Sangria.

The foods is good too.

DUMPRINGS

I stumbled upon Dumpling Epicness yesterday on the outskirts of Chinatown.

$1 for FIVE DUMPLINGS!!!!!

And they're BIG.
