Jersey Shorehouse!

Semmesey texted me that I had to make it to the new DG Shorehouse first thing in the morning...so I set my alarm for 5:30am Sunday morning and booked it down from Boston to Spring Lake, NJ - a five hour drive.

Traffic flowed great until the last stretch toward the beach. Then it got all jammed up.

It wasn't even a really warm day... the water was freezing...but the beach was pretty crowded.

Katie and Semmesey have been doing a marathon of weddings and so had a few days to kill before heading back to New Orleans so it was a perfect time to christen the almost finished Shorehouse.

Kate and Pablo and Tash joined in on the fun as well.

You might remember the Shorehouse from when it was still being built.

Well everything is now mostly finished...all that's left to do is the pool and the furnishings.

Yay pool!

Yay basement bar and massive home theater!

Yay wine cellar!

I can't even convey the size of this place with my partycam. It's so much bigger than it looks.

Yay margaritas!

Yay epic kitchen and living room!

It's amazing the attention to detail. Katie's mom laid out the backsplash for the kitchen tile by tile. My camera couldn't really catch just how beautiful these colors were.

And Katie's bathroom is her dream bathroom.

The shower features gorgeous mother of pearl inlays.

And the ceiling is like 20 feet high. At least.

The guest bath boasts a rain shower...

And there's another living room area on the 3rd floor.

Even the tiles of the laundry room form a beautiful mosaic.

The overall color scheme was a very calming bluish green color. My favorite.

The family cooked up a small feast.

And we all went out on the patio...

There was a bit of a charred chicken incident...

But nothing a little scraping couldn't fix...

Katie tearfully toasted her mom and the incredible hard work she's put into their beautiful new home.

And we're all looking forward to many more Shorehouse gatherings to come!
