DJ Hero Doug

I'm bored today and was surfing around Facebook and found this which I thought was pretty epic.

Doug has been touring the country lately promoting his new Activision game DJ Hero.

He was onstage in front of a crazy crowd at LAX at the Luxor in Vegas and then was also at some huge event here in NYC, opening for Jay-Z.

Yay for Doug.

Yay for Jay-Z.

And yay for people who have cool jobs that they love.

Brown Bash '09

The other night, Brown Club NY held Brown Bash 2009 at this great Chelsea bar called The Gates.

It was open bar, but cover was $75 and I couldn't find anyone who wanted to go... and I wasn't about to pay that much just so I could drink myself into oblivion alone....but at the last minute Laura texted me saying she happened to work in the adjacent cubicle to the president of Brown Club NY and was able to get me into the event for free if I agreed to take a couple of pretty little party pictures at the event.

As if I wouldn't have anyway....done and done.

The place was krazy krowded.

And filled with Browns from every generation.

I was surprised to see several familiar faces.

Including Doug, who I met several weeks back when we karry-oked our faces off, and who I had just read about in The Four Hour Workweek, because he also just happens to be best friends with the author, Tim Ferriss.

At a certain point I introduced Doug to Ellen and Brooke who proceeded to openly fight over his last remaining business card. It was a little bit sad.

Girls are crazy!

Yay Brown!

Adventures in Surreal Estate

So now that Timmo has decided to stay in NYC, we've gotta find him a place to live!

This afternoon we toured an amazing 5,000 sq. ft. loft in SoHo.

The kitchen looked like something out of The Real World.

The whole place did actually.

The master bedroom overlooked the main living room. My camera couldn't capture it all...it was so big.

And the master bathroom is like a grotto. To the right is an eight-person hot tub and to the left behind that wall which you can't see is a shower that would comfortably fit six people.

Then there's this whole other room in back that they're calling a "family room" but really it could just be a home theater or its own apartment because it has its own kitchen.

And then there are all these rooms upstairs and in between the two huge main/living rooms.

Crazytown.

Even the custom-made furniture was big and beautiful.

As a point of reference, Tom here is 6'2"...

Insanity.

All I can think is HOUSEWARMING PARTY!!!!!!

OMG

TimLo has decided to stay in NYC.

We are looking at this place in an hour.

5,000 square feet.

My life is complete.

Epic amounts of gay.

Some gay bears doing Quinn's audition song and dance from GLEE.

In case you have no idea why they're doing this, you can see two hot chicks and a tranny perform the original song and dance here.

Quinn Fabray = FIERCE.

iPhoto '09

My friend Garrett just sent me a copy of the new iPhoto '09 and it is SO AMAZING.

The coolest feature is the face recognition feature.

You go through and tag a few pictures of your friends, and the more you tag, the more it learns so that eventually it builds a database of faces and then just gives you a list of suggestions that it thinks are correct.

Sometimes it screws up a little before it has learned a face...

But for the most part it is frickin' BRILLIANT.

It can even tell the difference between different Asians!!!!

I have no idea how they do it!

If you know anything about me and how obsessed I am with photographs and cataloging everything, then you are not surprised that I will probably spend the next 29 hours teaching it.

It's seewwwwwww fun!

Chinkfood

After a lifetime of dealing with inane comments about my height, I'm always happy and excited when someone busts out something original that I've never ever heard.

This morning at dimsum the little Asian hostess lady said, "ooooohhhh six-seven! I feel like imma baby again!"

I wish I had a recording, I don't think I'm able to convey how amazing it sounded without the appropriate Chinese accent.

Anyway, it made my day.

As did reading through the menu.

Tim Ferriss & Kevin Rose on China Scams

I found this video really entertaining. Maybe because I have been to China and I've seen how it all works. Maybe because I think Kevin is hot and funny.

So the guys below are Tim Ferriss and Kevin Rose.

I'm reading Tim's book "The Four Hour Workweek" but I haven't finished yet due to my severe undiagnosed case of ADD. In his book, he mentioned the name of a friend of mine, and in realizing that I'm only one degree of separation away from him, I started researching him and stumbled onto his blog and his series of "Random Episodes" which I find to be super entertaining.

Basically these guys have the life I strive to have. They're about four years older than me, so I feel like a freshman and they're seniors and hopefully I'll be near where they're at in four years.

They're young entrepreneurs. Funny, inspiring, and they travel the world and get to entertainingly reflect on their hilarious adventures. They have great lives.

Tim has a slight air of douchiness to him, but he went to Princeton and thus it's not really his fault and I don't mind it. Plus he speaks perfect Chinese.

I absolutely adore Kevin though and want him to be my friend/puppy. It wasn't until after I watched all these videos and did some searching that I realized who he was.

Anyway I hope you enjoy the episode!

And go visit China!

With friends. (Absolutely do not go solo.)

It's great. I mean, it's dirty and smelly and people are weird and ugly and you'll probably get diarrhea, but it's totally worth it for all the hilarious stories you'll get out of it.

Farshid + Natasha = Fartasha

Felly and I woke up early Saturday morning to go to Farshid and Natasha's Engagement party in Pittsburgh.

We arrived at the airport early. Downed a few dranks.

And were on our way.

I got this book for AC, but since I haven't seen him in 22 weeks I decided to read it myself.

The Four Hour Workweek.

It's a really great book. If you hate your job though, beware, it will convince you to quit.

I love it because it reaffirms most of the decisions I've made in my life these past few years.

.....

Anyway.

We arrived in Pittsburgh and got the very last rental car.

From there it was about an hour drive to our hotel.

Starving. We stopped at Isaac's Ale House.

Then got to our hotel and changed for the party.

We rode over to Natasha's house with Farshid. And when we arrived, and he jumped out of the car, flashbulbs went crazy. The paparazzi were out in full force. He loved it.

There was a ton of amazing food prepared.

And lots of non-alcs.

Curry buffet plus no drinking makes Kathryn feel SEXY.

After some appetizers, Natasha made her grand entrance.

And took her spot on the throne next to Poopshid.

Parents gave speeches.

We all posed for photo ops.

And we had a dinner buffet.

After dinner, Natasha's sister, who is a dead-ringer for Vanessa Hudgens, performed a couple songs, including an acoustic piano version of Chris Brown's Forever. It was beauuuutiful.

More speeches...

Some funny team games...

And yay, they are officially engaged.

Afterwards we retreated to our hotel.

And were joined by all the young people.

Natasha showed off her ring. Isn't it pretty?

I kid. I kid.

It really is quite pretty.

Congrats Fartasha!
