Crappy Thanksgiving!

Crapser invited all her homeless friends over to Casa de Crapser for a thanksgiving feast of SO MUCH TURKEY, sweet delicious gravy, epic Mac & Cheese (2 kinds), some vegetable/marshmallow concoction, mashed pertaters, curry string beans, and brussel sprouts...

YES YES DERRRICIOUS.

Finally I had the perfect occasion to rid myself of the final vestige of Graying & Balding (the job I got fired from the day this blog started):

A super expensive bottle of French champagne that was gifted to Jim & Ann from Sting & Trudie Styler.

From the website:

Prestige Cuvée Grand Cru

If you are a lover of champagne, you owe it to yourself to try Prestige Cuvee Grand Cru at least once in your life. Few bottles are produced:It is always a special vintage. Aged between 8 and 12 years, this magnificent champagne is a grand cru Chardonnay: the most mature, soft creamy and long lasting that Comte des Blancs can offer. A unique wine like this deserves special presentation: the cork in each elegant bottle is tied by hand with hemp - a tradition revived by Count de Dampierre to honour the very finest of his champagnes.

Also it came with gold scissors.

Anyway, I'm glad I could give it to parents who would probably appreciate it better than I.

I'm sure if I did a blind taste-test between this and Andre I would choose Andre because it :

A: Is sweeter.

and

B: Gets you drunk.

..................................

After dinner the "kids" raided the hall closet and donned Mrs. Crapser's finest outerwear for the traditional Crapser post-dinner "walk around the block".

Uni came along for the ride.

Also Brendo was dressed like Carmen SanDiego.

Impromptu Halloween!

Neighborhoods in the valley seem almost East Coast-ish.

I like.

When we returned there was an array of delicious pies and cakes.

Crappy Thanksgiving to all!

Easy Money

OK so yesterday was the reason I came to New York this week.

My wonderful little friend (who will rename nameless because she doesn't want anyone at her company to know what a sneaky little Asian she is) hooked me up with a big job shooting corporate headshots for her entire firm for their company website.

There had been a couple of photographers under consideration, but she pushed me to the top of the pile.

I told her to get me as much money as she thought she could from her company (11-ish people) and I'd give her a 20% referral fee. Pretty good incentive I think.

Well. I got the job.

I took about 30-50 shots of each person, each session taking about 5-10 minutes each.

And I paid her $600.

So...yeah...just in case you wanted some ideas on how to make both me and you some easy money...

Muscles with Megoon

Last night Megoon and I ate delicious Mussels.

And then I went home and we watched The Devil Wears Prada.

That's all.

Uncle Ming's! : UPDATED

Saturday night we went to some hidden little bar in Alphabet City called Uncle Ming's where I think coincidentally Robb's ex-(ish)-girlfriend Leila was celebrating her birthday.

Also the small Kwan came by...

When it became apparent that Uncle Ming's did not have a secret dancefloor like so many other wonderful New York bars, we bounced a few blocks to a bar called Niagara which featured no waterfalls but did have a tiny little dancefloor...

and a collapsing straw hut...

There were also these totally rando Asian girls that nobody could tell apart (or remember afterward).

One tried to make out with Tak.

The other grabbed KG's ass and told him it was a "six"...

She then kept making random comments and was being so annoying that he finally just told her he was gay.

I enjoyed that...while Taku enjoyed triple-fisting.

As always, shirt spillage is a good indicator of a good time.

Weeeeee!

In the end Kris got us kicked out when he tried to steal some shots that were just sitting on the bar.

I've never been escorted out by security. It was kind of fun. Huge bouncers grabbing us by our arms and dragging the 12 or so of us out of the bar.

Good times.

'Stache with Tash

I know you've been waiting for it.

Friday night I went to Moustache (Moose-tahsh) with Natasha.

Deeeeeleeeecious.

Might go again with KG on Monday.

THE BEST.

NYC Eatfest/Babyfest

I engaged in some major overeating yesterday with a couple of my fellow Eater Asians yesterday.

For lunch, Mom and I went to Carmine's on the Upper West Side.

One of my favoritest Italian joints EVER. (They also have a Times Square Location).

Dinner was Italian/Japanese fusion at Pasta Wafu in the West Village with TL.

Also I went to meet the first baby I've ever known that wasn't related to me.

Liz and Mario's baby, William Eduardo Sturla.

At two weeks old, he kind of looks like a little old man.

Also he has the cutest little upturned nose.

I can't believe we're having babies.

New Card. New Life.

So I'm at the airport.

Since I've been traveling so much this year, I've upgraded to the Amex Platinum Card.

Coolest thing about it? Access to airline lounges all over the world.

Also I get 2-for-1 domestic airfare and sweet upgrades at all kinds of hotels and resorts.

Now I just need to get a Black Card and I'll be all set.

New Business Cards

Just picked them up from the printers.

Off to the aeropuerto!

The End of an Era

Danny and I found an apartment today.

In true Kwan fashion it was the first and only place we looked at.

We saw, we loved, we immediately filled out applications.

It is beautiful.

Spacious. Especially for WeHo.

Not super-expensive.

Has a pool.

And a jacuzzi.

And a gym.

AND the address is 884, which, if you understand Cantonese numerology, means to make money LIKE CRAZY.

Also it is stumbling walking distance to EVERYTHING.

Not quite as spacious as Brockton, but I mean, you don't really get much more space than Brockton...

.......

So we filled out apps and, if everything checks out, we'll move mid-December.

It all happens so fast.

I will be so sad to leave the Westside...but honestly I really don't think I will see anyone any less...aside from the Brockton Associates.

BROCKTON 4 EVA

Maybe I will get a tattoo...
