Halloween: Coming Soon

Sorry guys. I know you're waiting. Doug has probably refreshed this page about 67 times already.

It's coming.

Tonight.

I spent Sunday-Tuesday in Sactown, SF, and Stanford so I'm a little backlogged with stuff.

It is coming.

The Bentley and the Beckhams

My buddy/former headshot client Mark is an actor/dancer/partyboy but also works for a Hollywood baller who owns one of the main concert venues in LA. Back in the 80s this man was I think somehow responsible for launching a couple of legendary rock bands into superstardom.

Needless to say his estate is not shitty.

Mark works out of the pool house rolling calls, running errands, and doing other random stuff.

While we were having lunch today a certain owner of the Palms Casino called to see if Mark's boss had his Halloween costume ready for the party at the Playboy Mansion tomorrow night.

I thought it was funny because it was like any pre-Halloween conversation I would have, but on a much more epic scale...with assistants.

After lunch, Marky and I played with Morty, the cuttest little Westie ever.

And then we tried to spy on their superstar neighbors David and Victoria Beckham.

Unfortunately a shot of some railing is all I could get, as their property is about 99% paparazzi-proof, though I think you can just barely make out the outline of their gargantuan house through the foliage.

Still, we prowled the perimeter and lurked in the bushes...

..............................

After Mark's boss left we continued to play around his property...

And then we decided to do something kind of naughty...

And we borrowed his Bentley for the afternoon.

Bentleys are pretty cool.

I SAW TOM CRUISE

I was stopped in traffic just past Rodeo on Santa Monica in Beverly Hills when I saw an SUV with a pretty girl in it who I thought looked like Kate Beckinsale.

Studying her closely I realized it was not.

She continued into the intersection and turned left, allowing the black Range Rover behind her to pull forward into my sightline.

Stupid floppy boy-bowl hair... Large nose... Big Risky Business shades... Signs of hotness ten years past... TOM CRUISE!!!!!!

..............................

I continued on my journey East and ended up meeting up with Chlobags, in town for fashion shtuff, for lunch.

Morels @ The Grove makes an incredible and large flatbread pizza with smoked salmon, gruyere cheese, capers, and onions.

THE WALK FOR AIDS

3 Kwans made up Team Kwanderful this year.

It was totally crowded and they raised almost $4 million.

Couldn't have done it without the tranny cheerleaders I'm sure.

Oh how they lift our spirits...

Year two though was not as exciting as year one when it was all new and wonderful and rainy.

After the second mile, Dan and Emily bailed to go snack on the new Beefy Cheesy Melts at Taco Bell.

While me, Kristy, and Toni took a little shortcut.

Just because you cheat doesn't mean you can't win!

We emerged way ahead of the pack, sprinting toward the finish.

We passed Kristy's office...

Bumped into Matt...

And ended up coming in about 14th place....

...right behind the tranny cheerleaders.

(How do they run in those things?)

Hooray.

Celebratory food and drink was in order.

The End.

Sumner's B'day

I went pretty much straight from the airport to the Gas Lite for Sumner's birthday party last night.

10pm and the boy was tanked.

And it was crowded.

If shirt spillage is an indicator of a good time, it was a really good time.

Karaoke rules. God bless Asians and their Asian inventions.

Of course, 2am came before we knew it. Pumpkins turned back into mice. Cheese turned back into stones. And everyone went home. (Or over to Bobby's to watch Planet Earth.)

Happy B'day Slumner!
