It started with Lady Gaga @ Roseland Ballroom on Monday night...and then I just couldn't stop.
Roseland is a legendary venue that closes this week...FOREVER.
I attended the show with my giant-in-crime Brent.
Giants LOOOOOVE a Gaga!!!
(Giants also love being able to stand anywhere in a standing-room-only venue and being able to see everything.)
Roseland is a much smaller performance venue, so this show wasn't nearly as elaborate as
Madison Square Gaga...
But still, the show was awesomely entertaining.
She was looking fierce.
At one point she climbed up into the balcony where her parents were apparently sitting and watching the show.
There was also a little side stage where she played in front of a subway train...
Lots of fabulous clothing changes.
Lots of dancing.
And who doesn't love a confetti cannon?
It was a pretty short set... she ended the show with a performance of G.U.Y. which I wasn't that into until I heard it live...
After the show we had a mini giants party.
Loves that my Little Terence friend is in town visiting!
Now my Terence-friend is huge into broadway shows. Like, OBSESSED. He convinced me to go see Hedwig & The Angry Inch with him on Tuesday night starring Neil Patrick Harris.
We lined up for the ticket lottery and we WON! Awesome seats for like $37!
Awesome show. I didn't know the music and I hadn't seen the movie. I'm sure if I had I would have loved it even more, but NPH was FANTASTIC.
After the show we waited like crazed fanboys for a glimpse of the superstar along with throngs of other people.
HAYYYYY NPH!!!!
Can't believe I ended up going to Times Square 5 times in one week..
It's kind of an awesome place if you take out all the awful people and threats of terror attacks...
Wooo! Night 2 finished!
Then...on Wedsnesday. Terence again texted me to go to a matinee lottery of Idina Menzel's new show If/Then.
Again we lined up for the lottery...and AGAIN WE WON!!!!
$25 tickets in the front row. SQUEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!
On our way into the theater we spotted Judd Apatow. He ended up sitting across the aisle from us!
Loves that Adele Dazeem!!!!
We were literally SO close the cast was spitting on us.
Idina was AMAZING. The show itself...is kinda meh. Songs are enjoyable but forgettable.
But we still worship Ms. Menzel-Dazeem.
And THEN (no and then!!!) Thursday night, I managed to snag tickets off stubhub for LES MISERABLES!!!! Someone had posted last minute orchestra center tickets for $125 each when all the others were selling for a minimum of $300. The second I spotted them I grabbed them.
These seats were awesome and the show was OUT OF THIS WORLD GREAT. We didn't even get to see the real Jean Valjean. (His tubby understudy was subbing in and even he was outstanding.)
A fantastic grand finale to a fantastic week of entertainment.
The seats at the Les Miz theater left much to be desired though...ouch.
WE LOVES A BROADWAY BINGE WEEK!!!!
Going to shows is always so inspiring to me.
My job puts me right on the outskirts of this city's entertainment industry and seeing all these actors making their broadway dreams come true is what I want for all of my awesome headshot clients.
It's a thrill to find a bunch of them in the casts of these shows. And it's weeks like this that remind me why I love this city and why I would never want to live anywhere else!
