FriedChicken/FriendChicken -> Meatsweats

Kristen had no idea what she was getting herself into when she received an invite from AC for the second Momofuku Fried Chicken (FriendChicken) dinner.

I won't bore you with details on the lottery system and how you win the meal, but if you want you can read the first post on it when we went originally and try to win this thing for yourself.

Still perfectly fried and delicious.

This time though, we all broke into meatsweats instantly.

(You know, when you get all sweaty from eating a lot of meat...)

Thank you AC for having the worst job ever so that the highlight of your day is entering Momofuku's daily foodlottery in order to win eatparties for your friends!

More Fried Chicken

AC won another dinner to Momofuku's Fried Chicken dinner.

We are going at 10pm tonight.

Also, Chick-fil-A is now doing SPICY CHICKEN.

I think I'm going to fly to LA through Atlanta just so I can taste some.

What did I do to deserve this life????

Farshid is officially nutso.

Wedding invitations come in all shapes and sizes.

And then there's Farshid, whose invite came wrapped in a leather box the size of a purse with a metal SCULPTURE attached to it.

You opened it up to find a portrait on fancy parchment.

And then you lift that and find the important info engraved on a metal scroll.

Whatever, it probably cost $1 to make in India. Still impressive though.

Wedding should be amazingtown!

Rivington Rooftop!

I arrived home from the Shore last night and was sitting around in my underwear ready for a quiet evening of photo-retouching and music-downloading when both Zameer AND DannyR texted me to come to a Gay Pride Kickoff party at the Rivington Hotel's rooftop.

Well....I had heard that the Rivington was supposed to be THE most fabulous rooftop ever....and the fact that the party was sponsored by Belvedere Grapefruit, only $40 for all-you-can-drink, and two blocks from my apartment equals impromptu night of fun!

DK Partycam does not do the view justice.

This makes me happy

Saw this in People Magazine a few days ago...

I already love Jason Bateman, but this just makes me love him more!

Tim's 28th!

Monday night, right before I left for the Shore, we celebrated Tim's birthday at The Brindle Room in the East Village.

Jeremy, the head chef and owner (formerly one of the head chefs at Employee's Only), is a friend of Maggie's and so we basically had the restaurant all to ourselves.

Complete with a special 8-course birthday meal.

Yum fried oysters on guacamally!

Amazing steak tartare...

Even the lentils...I couldn't get enough...

Radish and Beet Salad....I could have done without...

Jenny took a break from managing the Goods Trailer to join us.

She had the Sea Bass...

Mags had the spaghetti...

And I had the head-sized pork chop....

And then there was a Red Velvet cake from Sugar Sweet Sunshine...

And singing...

Mags's brother Phil and fiancee Jen showed up near the end. (They'll be getting married this weekend and I'll be taking pickys!)

And then our Deerfield buddy Hiro showed up with fun gifts!

Happy Birthday to one of the kindest, warmest, most generous, (formerly) funnest people I know!

(I'd also say "best-looking", but we all say that a little too often and he gets embarrassed.)

See you at rehearsal dinner tomorrow Magothy!

Home Sweet Shorehouse!

While down here on the Shore, I had the opportunity to visit Smershy's family's new beach house in beautiful Spring Lake!

Remember a few years back when Smersh's mom had her big retirement party?

Well this has been one of the projects occupying her "down"time.

And it is a masterpiece.

Katie's dad Nick took me on a tour of what is to come.

The grand open-air kitchen/living room area...

What is going to become a 4-story spiral staircase leading from the basement to the 3rd floor.

Katie's beautiful cathedral-ceilinged bedroom...

Complete with its own spacious bathroom, shower AND tub...

Katie's brother Mike's bedroom...

One of the guestrooms...

A guest shower...

Complete with this pipe...which is going to become a RAINSHOWER!

The backyard...

Where they are currently picking out tile for the pool...

Oh and a little basement area where there might be a little home theater...

It's so beautiful!

And I'm SO excited for our first weekend retreat!
