Dude!

So I was walking through Ralph's and I almost pooped my pants when I saw a big red sign:

Ralph's Club Card Members:

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say I bought several cases.

And I'm drunk.

This town is so small.

So I was talking to my friend Ben this morning. He called because we haven't spoken in about 3 weeks. Caught up a little. He's a busy guy. He's an entertainment lawyer.

So he asked what was new.

Told him the story about how I got fired.

He paused. Then mentioned very vaguely how he had a very similar case exactly two weeks ago where a client's copyright was infringed and his firm forced a company to fire some employees. I asked him if it was my case. He, being a lawyer, would not say.

How weird would that be? If I knew the lawyer who helped get me fired? The way he made it sound, I really don't know. He sounded so surprised when I told him. He was like "oh my god. oh my god. that is so weird".

This town is so small it is scary.

But it is also so small that soon it will be mine.

(evil laugh)

P.S. I think I am getting better with my new reflector!

Eugene's pre-birthday dinner!

Yay!

Eugene's birthday is NOW!

Tonight Kristy cooked the most delicious meal. And meat slabs usually aren't my thing.

The main course: a filet mignon with a gorgonzola butter glaze melt. Side courses: Leeks, beans, and onion mixed, surprisingly delicious. And gut-bomb yam yam yam yam yams. Dessert: delicious apple tartlets on puff pastries with sugar and full-fat vanilla bean ice cream.

MMmMMmmm...

Living with Kristy is the best. She is the best cook.

Now if only I could find a 3rd housemate who LOVES to clean AND kill spiders...

The over-hyped, over-priced suckfest.

There was so much potential.

EVERYBODY came. NOBODY got in.

Everyone waited in line at least an hour. Kristy & Barry ended up having to slip the hobag at the door $100 to get 5 people in. Pete and the other McMaster people did the same.

I was inundated with angry text messages and phone calls for much of the night.

Total shitshow.

When everyone did finally get in after either bribing the doorperson or after Naia finally went down to escort them in they were angry, upset, and not really in party mode. Drinks were expensive. Kristy bought 5 drinks. $90.

Grrrrrr...

Tonight is going to be so much fun!!!

My hair is drying right now. I'm in the middle of the full 2-hour shower, condition, towel-dry, air-dry (no blow drying), and THEN styling process I use for super special occasions. I am such a homo.

Kristy just got her hair cut for this party. New outfits all ready to go.

Guest list is all set.

Naia's off getting her hair prepped right now.

Tonight is going to be riiiidiculous. Just read some website on the place the Day After Lounge. It's a VIP guest-list only bar, whatever that means. One of those trendy hollywood bars. Great in small doses. Or in one large dose. Like tonight. I don't know how Narnicle the Barnicle pulled this off, and get them to have her private party. For Free. But if it goes as well as expected, tomorrow I will be very very hungover with a camera full of hilarious pictures.

Oh I am so excited. It doesn't even bother me that I feel a sore throat coming on and by this time tomorrow I will most likely be a miserable toilethead creature. I am telling myself no shots tonight. Beer only. We'll see how that goes.

So excited. I wish Megoon could be coming. Megoon we miss you!

Naia's Party soon come...

The anticipation for Naia's party is such that it deserves its own journal entry. New outfits. New hairdos. New everything. All in preparation for the party of Naia.

Last night. Went to a Frontiers Magazine launch party for the new TV show "Open Bar" with Katie. Walter was working as a Miller Lite boy with his buddy Justin. Basically their job is to wear a tight "lifeguard" wife beater and shorts. Look hot. Drink Miller Lite. And talk to the gays that hit on them and promote Miller Lite subconsciously.

It's really quite a fantastic job and it inspires me to go to the gym so that maybe I too can be a Miller Lite boy for $50 an hour.

Very fun time. The subject of Naia's party came up fourteen times.

So very excited.

Reflection!

Yesterday I bought a new reflector so that I can begin to learn the art of real pro photography. I think I got ripped off. Paid $90 for a 42-inch reflector. Pictures look so different with good lighting.

Here's a silly practice shot we did.

And then even sillier...we watched Elektra.

Unemployment! Yay!

So Kristy pointed out that because I was laid off, I can collect unemployment.

Basically our wonderful government is to send me a check for $400 a week while I'm looking for a new job!!! And I think I can do it for as long as a year!!!

I love my country.

My night from hell.

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCKITTY FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCKERTON FUCK

We went to a nice dinner. Me, Katie, Meghan, Evan. Waited a good 35 minutes to be seated for a reservation we showed up on time for.

Got a tip from Christian that Victoria is having a party. We go there. And of course it is a private dinner party. Feel very awkward. Wonderful hostess Victoria welcomes us . We chat and exchange pleasantries. Minutes later we realize that it is actually a BIRTHDAY dinner party. Worse, it is VICTORIA's birthday party. We realize this as they start singing and bring out a birthday cake. We have been greeted and welcomed and have failed to wish our hostess a happy birthday. Awkwardness increases exponentially. Throw in a little post-hookup/oops-my-ex-boyfriend-is-standing-at-my-side tension between two friends and I can now officially welcome you to the most uncomfortable moment of my entire life.

Felt horrible. Apologized to Victoria. Left the party. I suck.

Drive to Bar Marmont to meet up with Naia. Find a moderately sweet parking space a few blocks away. Wait in line for half an hour. Naia finally comes and gets us in.

Bar is ok, kind of small. And sweaty.

Have a drink. Leave around 1.

Walk back to the car.

It has been towed.

TOWED.

Hollywood Fucking Department of Transportation says no parking after midnight on Sunset. FUCK FUCKKITY FUCK FUCK FUCK

Take a cab to Hollywood tow. Retrieve my car. Damage is $177.

Little dude in a golf cart drives me to my car. Get in. There's a fucking parking ticket on my windshield. 45 fucking dollars.

I can't deal with this right now. Excuse me. Hi. Yeah. I'm UNEMPLOYED.

I wish I could tell you I drove straight from there into a brick wall and died a horrible screaming death. But alas I am not suicidal. Yet.

It has been a fucking shitty-ass week. Understatement of the century.

My karma must be so very bad right now. I think I should go adopt a one-armed orphan or something. I am actually fearing for my life. This might possibly be the week that I die. Airplane debris is just going to fall from the sky and impale me from skull to sternum.

Hold me.

Reunion!

Had a nice surprise visit from Mr. Tim Loh, in town on a layover from Singapore to Colorado. Hadn't seen him in almost 4 years. But he is just as awesome as I remembered.

Went to Q's. Drank a lot. It's amazing to be able to reconnect with old friends after having gone through college and changing so much.

Andrea also came out. Hadn't seen her in almost a year. And she lives in LA! Reconnected. Wonderfulness. I am so happy today. Hopefully we will hang out more now. She lives near Dan and Emily.

I slept next to the toilet last night.

Headshots!

So Meredith's new headshots have inspired me.

I am dead set on perfecting my headshot photography. I picked up a bunch of books on lighting, portrait photography, and photoshop. This is my quest. With Meredith as my muse. I am going to be a headshot photographer. And then fashion. And then the world.

Been searching for a job as an office manager/assistant/photo-retoucher for a photographer/studio. Please let me know if you have any leads.

I love it too much to not pursue it. I appreciate beautiful things and people too much. Who doesn't love beauty?

I mean, can you really deny the fact that this is just beautiful?

Visitors!!!

So this past week has been wondrous. I've been learning tons of new photoshop tricks. Been slowly applying for jobs that sound very very cool. AND we have had a shitload of visitors!

First came Munish. Prettiest boy in the world. Taking a break from med school to go to Six Flags with a group of lame medschool friends...

Then we had style-icon Chloe. On a trip from New York to promote for her fashion line. They put her up in a swanky room with the rest of the supermodels at the Standard Downtown...

Then we had sweet wonderful boob-strap-head Heidi. Visiting her great-aunt Katherine who calls me an "Oriental"...

And then Kris. Staying only a day before flying up to Oakland with Heidi...

And tomorrow...TimLoh!!! On a stopover from Singapore. I have not seen Timothy since we graduated from Deerfield. Craziness.

And much of this would have been impossible if I had had to go to work all of these days. I think it is a sign that it was all supposed to happen this way. Weird how things seem to work out for a reason.

Unemployment definitely agrees with me.

A new beginning.

I got fired today.

Yes. It is true.

F-f-f-f-fired.

It was an unfortunate blogging incident.

Packed up my things and left.

Cried a little bit in my car like a girl.

It happened in the span of two hours.

The old blog has been shut down. Here begins a new one.

Very very sad. For legal reasons I probably shouldn't explain. But it's done.

I am unemployed.

I have very mixed feelings about it all. It's kind of my fault. And I understand why I had to be fired. Kind of. I AM glad to have free time again. Finally. It wasn't a hostile firing. It was just what needed to be done. We parted with hugs.

So I guess I'm going to read. Watch movies. Learn about photography. Work out. Play tennis.

Spent the afternoon on the beach with KG. Very glad to see him and Heidi. I wasn't originally going to get to see KG on his supershort visit, since he was only in town for one day. But I guess everything happens for a reason. And that worked out. So yay.

And the funniest part is, my boss called me about four hours post-firing while I was eating a delicious fried lunch on the beach and said, "Uh...I don't know how to burn DVDs..." And I had to talk him through it on the phone.

Everything happens for a reason.

(deep breath)
